Well folks,
I finally installed my AEM Cold Air Intake today. Let me just say the the installation was NOT as easy as it seems. I had to remove the battery and the entire fender just to remove the stock intake unit. It was all worth it though. The first noticable change is the sound. One word...whoa. after slamming the accelerator the CAI starts screaming at about 3500rpm and gets louder until shifting. The sound of the intake paired with the GReddy exhaust is unbelievable.
Next performance. The gears definately run through at a faster pace overall. In second and first gears there is a bigger push at about 3500-4000rpm (v-tec engagement). I can even peel a little bit at the end of first gear...thats a rarity for auto trannies.
The only drawback is a slight whistle heard at low rpms in first and second gears. Its noticable at first, but easily ignored later.
All in all, my CAI has been my best (but only second) performance mod yet! I love watching the looks on little civic ricers faces when they realize the aggressive noises just came from an accord flying past them. Absolutely love it.;)

Lol, I wasn't bursting your bubble, that just sounded a little funny.

Glad you like it though. The sound from them is really nice. I didn't know so much was involved in installing the CAI in the 6th gens though.

I have a 99 Accord....
Installation was pretty easy...

The only hard task was to unscrew the resonator...

I didn't need to remove the battery...

it took me like 35min to install it...

Maybe you ain't got all the tools needed...

I have a manual tranny.. it might be the only difference...

I don't know...

By fender... you do not need to remove the metal, exterior fender... only a part of the inside fender(plastic)....

You remove a couple of clips... and 1 scew... ad you're done...

I agree, the resonator is the hardest part of the installation. I didnt have and extension long enough to reach the deep bolt on the left. Had to borrow tools from a friend. Installation took me about an hour.
