07-02-2002, 11:28 AM
hahaha.. thanks for the comments.... and yes it is a PS1 but just today i slapped in the PS2... woo hoo.... now i'll be even more ready for the show in montreal "FULL THROTTLE... where sex and cars collide" hahaha

and yes i did do this all myself.... the stuff i use is a vinyl dye that you just rub on.... i'll get the name for you folks... i then used some clear coat to give it a nice smooth finish....

basically now i can take a pen and try to scratch the stuff off and it wont come off... now that is what makes dye better than paint...

Grip72
07-02-2002, 02:39 PM
Did you remove your whole dash and everything and dye it separately or what? Also was the dye just sort of like a liquid or what? Please explain..it looks really sweet.

azn_nite_ryder
07-03-2002, 12:20 AM
yea i took everything apart... the dash came off so it was easier to access the back part closer to the window... took about 20 mins to remove the dash.... as for the dye you can get 2 diff versions of it.... ona is in a can and you can spray the dye on... or you can get this wax like dye that you rub on..... its like a crayon that you kinda colour in....

since my car has been exposed everyone asked me where i got my dash done.... when they found out that i did it... ( i swear it looks professinally done) i've now been contracted to do 2 other cars ( show cars).... now the pressure is on to do a good of a job on thiers as i did on mine.....

both these cars will be showcased at darknights and full throttle...

azn_nite_ryder
07-03-2002, 12:22 AM
oops.... that came out wrong... i meant my stuff is ok.. not the greatest but i have to make it better on their cars.... hahaha man i am tired....

Did you have to sand down the vinyl or something or anything before dyeing it white? I want to dye pieces of my interior red to match my exterior color. My interior is black right now so would i have to dye it white first or what?

Okay.. being everyone is talking about painting the insides.. what color(s) do you think would go well with my car... Would I get a slap on the hand if I do silver and black, or do you think I should break up the silver a little bit and go with someone more like blue/black or even a purple color?? Grrrr... so many colors to pick from really sucks.http://www.c2cimportlifestyle.com/images/personal/rachels_civic.jpg

Go with purple and black and then continue that skeem into the engine ...... That would look rather sweet with that silver color for the paint..... I used the spray and it seemed to work very well ....It has been about a year since I first put it on and it hasnt plaked

Hahah silly Mobbo.

Again: Silly Mobbo

I live in Detroit, so guess what? I can travel across the bridge or the tunnel to get to Canada. They have 3 Canadian Tire stores over there. But guess what ?????? Nobody ever heard of that product and never seen it. Now I am sure that the company that makes that stuff has a site or is featured in some sort of catalogue or has a mailing address or something like that so that a customer can contact them.

But I want to see the can. ;) Oh yeah don't forget the boobies ;)

Hahah it takes me 10 min to get over to Canada oh sweet Canada ;)

I can vouge for the vinyl spray pain Plastikote. Take a look at my pictures in my sign. If you like the way it looks there then thats what your going to get by spray painting it. I personally love it. There are some parts that if i would have taken my time theyd look better. But hey its my car and painted it myself for myself not for shows or anrything. I get compliments all the time.
