I didn't read the whole article, but I think that's a bunch of BS. Nobody should have your DNA on file, especially the gov.

Well from a privacy standpoint its disturbing. But what about this view....

Let's say you just had a new baby boy in SC. They take his blood as described and you choose to have them keep the sample on ice.

Ten years down the road a tradgedy happens. Your boy was killed. Thankfully you kept your son's DNA at the SC hospital. Because by this time you could re-create your son thanks to advanced DNA research.

Might sound a bit odd, but its just a thought. DNA research is advancing very well. They've even started work on DNA based computer chips........

In the US perhaps. Though I don't know that its been banned. I know they were talking about it.

i'm pretty sure it's banned in the US.. but many other countries are paying very important scientist lots of money to clone ppl... so it's coming
