It's about time cops started pulling people over for racing out their cars. :D

How is that funny.
Poor girl got pulled over by an asshole!
Most cops are MAJOR assholes these days.
Only a small percentage are nice...good thing the nice one pulled me over...got only a warning...the only time I got pulled over!

Sorry about what happened. Wish you best in fighting it in court.

I agree.. cops are sooooooo dumb... when my car got attacked (i'm sure you've all heard the story... a NUMBER of times) the cops acted like it was nothing. One actually said, "Are you sure you want to press charges because i really don't feel like filling out all this ****ing paperwork if you're not." Well... duh... my car is smashed and my face is bleeding... nah... just let the asshole go... (and that was sarcasm) stupid... 99.9% of them....

myself, please do not start again.

Some cops are cool. As long as your respectful and nice to them, they usually let you off. TT52 wuz going 80 in a 55, and he was very respectful to the cop and he got off with a warning....he could of lost his license but instead nothign happened....not all cops are bad, but most are A**holes like you said!

I hate stupid cops. Those LEDs dont look anything LIKE sirens! Common sense went the way of hanson. Oh well mylittlecivic, do you have a switch for your leds on your dash or somewhere? I like to flip em off (the leds, not the cops)when I'm driving on main roads, and only have them on in parking lots, residentials, etc.

i dunno about portegon, but in ohio the funds for cops were slashed big time, so the only way to get their checks is to pick on ppl for everything

That really sucks you got pulled over for them, but you knew they were illegal, so there's not much you can do.

im safe, i dont have any washers..... damn cf hood shaved them off :D but i know that blue and red is 99% of the time illegal to have unless your a law enforcment person. your best bet... get the green ones, or white ones, or stock ones... if you take it to court, DONT and i repeat DONT piss the judge off. he desides if you get a ticket or not. the judge desides everything.

I personally dont like them, but everywhere I go I see people with em. Mainly the blue ones. Are certain colors legal, or are they just in general illegal?

myself_included
06-16-2002, 01:12 AM
most blue lights are illegal for the law enforcement issue, and usually red/green due to the fire departments....

Maxvla

make it purple... lol. id like to see a law enforcement person say they use purple lights on their vehicles.

I read the posts, and they are in no way offensive. Maybe you all are merely anticipating myself_included to do something that offends you, but frankly I see no problems thus far. Funny thing is that the posts directed to myself_included were worse than anything posted by him. :D

Let's all just play nice now...

(this is back there)

Yes myself_included, I know the difference between sirens and lights. Most people just say sirens because its assumed they know what you're talking about. Every now and then you get a smart @ss that takes apart everything you say, though...
Sirens are like Kleenex and Band-Aids, nobody says tissues and plastic adhesive healing strips.

anyway, continue....

I was under the impression that blue was illegal everywhere. White and Amber are legal on the front, Red is legal on the back.

I personally find blue lights (or red/green, or anything blinking) on cars a distraction - my immediate reaction is to slow down until I realize that it's not an emergency vehicle.

Actually, we have talked to a couple cops around here that say they are more likely to pull you over for stupid stuff like neon license plate frames and and other things that they find stupid. A couple we have talked to act like pricks at first but once you get talking to them they are pretty cool.

Some cops just let the power go to their heads.. :paranoid:

he's just coping an attitude again, trying to provoke you. Ignore his subtle ways of trying to piss you off, then he'll try harder, then he'll get banned again.:)

Anyway staying on topic:

You didnt take your lights off did you? just install that switch so you can have them when you want them.

Everyone also has to realize that Cops put up with a lot of $HIT!!! Let me and 10 other people call you a PIG, ***, Loser, A$$HOLE, or lets try kicking your ass once and a while everytime you work and see if you get sick of it. Oh and while your at it. We will also bad mouth you on the internet and everywhere else we go. AND even if your breaking the law and you KNOW you are and they give you a ticket how about you get mad at them and maybe try to fight them. See what I'm getting at??? If not here we go. Cops are nice people. I happen to know some on a personal basis. I won't say why or how. but I will defend them all the time. Sure they may pull you over for something stupid and may be a little rude. BUT maybe they just got spit on, or someone pulled a knife on them. Drop the cop subject. It's their jobs. Just like you have yours.

And while were on dropping something. myself_included has done NOTHING wrong. He has been helpful with photoshopping some pics and has been polite. Leave him alone and he'll leave you alone.

I'm done here. ahhhhhh sorry for the long post.

State troopers, as difficult as it may seem to believe, are the best of them. At least with them there is negotiation involved and if you get pulled over you really must have been going fast. You're more likely to get nabbed by asshole small town cops looking to fill in a quota or get their kicks when you were 5 over the limit in a high-traffic area. Hard to pin it on one cop or another, there are some really reasonable state troopers out there, and believe me I know.
