I have my new cluster now ( with a Tach) but the mileage on the new tach is at 157k.... I only have like 78. Is there any way that I can change the new one to match my old mileage.
I figured if there was any easy way...then people would be doing this all the time before selling thier car. But is there a way I can do this????

remove the plastic cover and flip the mileage around...
but remember doesnt matter if its the same cluster or not.. its still illegal to set them back....

How do I flip/ or take off the clear plastic cover (of course...after I remove the cluster!!) It seem to be glued or something..or is it just stick on real tight. I don't want to break it...if possible. Thanks!!!
PS.
Can they tell if I do flip the mileage back????

you have to use a heat gun and soften up the glues then pry it off with a flat head....
its real hard to tell when someone puts one back... but if your caught theres huge fines.. and i mean HUGE..... but if you can set it back without having it traced then your fine....
just as long as they see that the cluster has not been tampered with

Is it illegal to change them even if you specify that the odometer mileage is not the correct mileage?
There's nothing illegal about doing a cluster swap, in which case the incorrect mileage will show.....but I'm not surprised if it is illegal to change the mileage whether you're honest about it or not.
