What the hell is going on with truck drivers?
I am from Chicago, but I go to law school in Michigan. Whenever I get the chance, I make the ~4-hour drive home to Chicago to visit the family.
Not a single trip goes without being harassed by some *!@#*$% truck driver! What the hell? I am extra careful around semi-trucks because I know they are heavy and difficult to control. I never cut them off, and if I pass one, I do it very carefully, giving a wide berth. But for some reason I always seem to come across truck drivers who enjoy blowing their horns, flashing their lights, and tailgating me so closely that I could swear they're about to ram me in their 20+ ton land monster.
I know I've done absolutely notheing to provoke them, but for some reason they just keep harassing me. Has anybody else experienced this? Do those SOB's just get a kick out of this behavior, or something?
Sooner or later they are going to come across someone who won't tolerate that treatment, and maybe they'll be armed....
Those BASTARDS!!

i drive the same way around semi's. but i have better luck it seems. all you can do it try to get out of the way. your car would definately lose the battle against one of those.

Huh. I usually find semi drivers more courteous than your average driver. Maybe they all got around to seeing F&F and they're pissed at us now.

We have lots of log trucks and stuff around here, and they are for the most part HORRIBLE drivers. On a highway I regularly drive, they are responsible for many deaths from taking the twisties too fast. They ride your ass whenever they get the chance, etc.

At night, I consider the road to belong to the trucks, so I cut them slack. But I never tailgate them and always check their tires while passing to make sure I don't get a huge chunk of retread in my windshield.
During the day, though, that's the car's time to be on the road.
Around here the trucks all drive in the left lane. That pisses me off, that's the fast lane, and when they hit hills they're anything but fast. I'm more used to GA, where trucks aren't allowed in the left lane on the interstates.
Also I'm tired of the f'ing rock carriers/dump trucks....I swear they search me out on the highway and drop their crap everywhere. Hard to keep a clean paintjob and uncracked windshield with them on the road.

Yeah most truckers around here (Memphis TN) are pretty nice... not something to be proud of but not long ago West Memphis was the trucking capital of the US... most truckers are really quite nice cept the ones carrying rocks and other debris uncovered... and the sand trucks, those just hurt thinking about them;(
it's gay when they drive on the left...when they';re actualy going faster than you...it's alright...but it's f'ing stupid when they go like 20 on the hw

Hmmm... I deal with truck drivers everyday at work , for the most part thier seem like decent guys.. they got thier own thing going on.... driving they seem to bee the best drivers on the road... I hate being behind them cuase large tires= more road debris on my windsheild. But never get cut off, or tailgated by them... you have to remember when they go down hill, and they have a full load, it takes a lot of braking power to slow them down, and then when they go uphill, they'll be slow as anything, so often they will coast down hill and speed up... they might tail gate you then, but that's only so they can get up that hill again.
