question about oil pressure sensor

am about to put a oil pressure guage in my car but if i disconect the sensor will it affect vtec engagement?am just asking because i read some where that if the oil level is low or the pressure is to low vtec will not engage.so by me disconnecting the sensor will the ecu think there is no pressure? thanks in advance

disconecting the sensor, will cause the oil light to go off. i think you'd be better off in taping into the sensor wires, rather than disconecting it.
