Well yesterday my norton anti-virus popped up and said i had a virus somehow, well anyways i click for it to clean it off (im not worried at all at this point) then it says it has no access to the file. (im now thinking jeez... i'll actually hafta do something to get rid of this) so i go online to the various anti-virus sites to find the auto-fix tool... but guess what... there isn't one for this virus. im like grrrr!

everything was fine till a few minutes ago i noticed my recycle bin had something in it and i right clicked to empty it and it pops up saying "are you sure you want to delete : Windows?"

so somehow its all ****ed up and now im just gonna reformat my drive after i backup all my goodies. I was going to do this in a few months anyways... i never let a copy of windows stay installed for more than 6 months and its been about 5 since i installed xp. just keeps things running smoothly.

WASTE OF FREAKIN TIME!

The virus is W32.Nimda.Enc so if you guys have anything let me know pretty soon.

I'm backing up everything right now and will do the deed tomorrow so that gives you time to help if possible.

At least you got everything to work when you re-installed. Sometimes finding driver CDs is a pain in the ass, especially when you have a zillion things hooked up to your computer.

i do have a zillion things hooked up but i keep all my computer cd's in a 200 cd folder... so it was no problem.

ahhh... fresh xp install. it seems sooo much quicker.
probly cause i have about 20 gigs less junk on here.

ok enough of this thread... someone lock it.
