Hi,

I just recently bought a totally stock 94 Accord EX with SOHC VTEC (It is automatic ;( ). I have put a few mods on it including 17" Tenzo Rims, Ground Control Coilovers with KYB AGX, and most recently an AEM CAI. The problem is, since I installed the CAI I've noticed my engine goes flat usually around 2k-3k rpm right before the VTEC kicks in. Then if I really run it out it will go flat again somewhere after 4k or 5k. It actually feels and sounds different during those ranges. I can feel the car take off, and then it is as if it falls on its face for a bit until the VTEC kicks in and BIGGITY BAM it will set me back in the seat again until I reach about 95mph where it just peaks off and goes flat.

The question is, do I need to change something to fix this, is it a problem with my motor (90k miles), or am I just imagining all of it?

I know very little about non-V8 non-carburated engines, but I'm learning. Little help?

You know what, I get the EXACT same thing between 2-2.5k RPMS. It really makes me mad. I changed plugs, clutch, valve adjustment, blah blah, and I still get that. I don't get a flat spot ~4k though, and after 95 I'm still pulling pretty hard. Basically, the engine is bogging where I get the flat spot.

hmm that is weird. isn't something sticky in the tranny ? i get flat spots whenever my car does not want to shift, or it is at the end of a gear.

I have a manual tranny and I'm still getting it... but it might be the case for reddevil.
