Greetings,
Hey, I'm a 20 year old college student. I go to University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I live in Bethesda MD. I've just received a loan, and I have money available to work on my car.
I think making modifications on it might actually be cheaper than buying a new car. Plus I like the feeling of "designing" and making the car into your own unique thing. This is an awesome board, and I can't beleive by browsing the cars how well you can make a car look just by customizing it.
Here is my plan can $2,500 cover this? :
4 16' tires.
Rims 16' (set of 4)
Spare 16' tire.
Installation fees for tires
Brake pads (rear 2 wheels, or all wheels)
Alteeza Lights
Factory style Spoiler (Accord 91)
Black Widow Kit
Kit Installation
Body Job (removal of dents and rusting)
Paint Job (want the car changed to a blue or orange color)
Window Tinting
Engine Tune-up
I live in DC/MD. I'm open to buying some items used from Ebay or junk-yards.
As you can see, at this stage, I'm not really worried about speed. I mainly want a car that runs well, and a car that looks good. Audio will come, but I know exactly what to do for that. A few related questions:
1) What is your opinion on Kits? I'm actually thinking that I might not get the kit and just get EZ fenders instead which are much cheaper.
2) How do you get that glossy look on a cars paint job?
3) Do I need special suspension if I put 16 tires and rims on an Accord 91? And how do I know what width to get the tires?
4) I have 154 K as I said. For how long are hondas known to run well? What can I do (both major and minor) to prolong my cars life?
5) In your opinion(s) what body color would go best with a maroon interior?
E-mail me at: anyiku1@umbc.edu with any comments or advice.
Thanks!
William.
