Ok our dsm area is dead , so i figure any and all dsmers left here browse this forum so im gonna ask here instead of the dsm area(please dont move this) How do you guys like your cars (im refering to you guys with stock turbos) I might be considering a gsx or gst. Now my honda friends the only reasons im considering a dsm mover a honda is

1) ease of modoabilty compared to a honda
2)interior is beautiful in my opinion
3)outside has apretty intimidating look in stock form

Dsmers these are the reasons i can think of against a eclipse or talon awd

1)crankwalk
2)crankwalk
3)crankwalk

cant think of anything other then those. well any and all input is welcome!

Truheel shutup i know what your thinking! And im just exploring all possible cars!!

Hey, a gsx or gst is more realistic than any rx7's, tt supras, or s2k's you've talked about, so I will say nothing!!! be more polite next time, but thats another story

Good call. I dont have a turbo'd dsm but crankwalk is the only downfall to gs-t/gs-x compared to turbo'd rs/gs. 1st gen dsm's dont suffer from crankwalk i dont think but I dont think they look as good as the 2nd gen. eclipse all the way man, your thank me in the morning when you spank 90% of the honda's in your area. :D :D :D :D

well the only thing that keeps me from a supra is insurance i cant afford 3 grand every 6 months for one. rx7 engine to complicated. s2k ruled out cause of two seaterness

rx7 has only 2 seats and dont expect to get any one in the back of an eclipse unless they are 11 years old.

Ok im a bit underknowledged on the vocabulary here... what exactly is "crankwalk"... I am thinking about turboing my AWD Highlander and need to know if it has to do something with an AWD system or what... thanks

I absolutely adore the interior quality/layout of my friends 97GST. But, as you said, crankwalk.

It has nothing to do with the turbo or AWD. Mitsubishi just didnt take enough time on the engine. The Lancer Evo in Japan has the same EXACT engine but it doesnt suffer crankwalk, they took time on that engine. You will be fine, if you dont have a chance of it without turbo, you wont have a chance for it to happen with it. Although it is possible on ALL cars, it seems the GST/GSX are known for it.

I have a stupider question !
What the hell does DSM stand for ?
I know its something about Mitsu but can't think of it for the life of me.

I won't pretend to be a Mitsu expert, but I got my Bro's 95 GST and drive it every now and then, Like 2morow, cuase my dang sister took my car :o ... but anyway... It seems to be high maintence... it's at 65k and just needed 1500 dropped into the clutch and timing belt... needs a new alternator, brakes, and a tune up. Don't get me wrong it's fast as Hell! but it gets more money dumped into repair work than my Ford Probe did... and THATS BAD ! My train of thought is that it is the turbo... I think any turbo application will shorten the life of an engine, but that's the price you pay for all that speed. I'm not knocking Mitsu.. my dad's 96' 3000Gt Nonturbo is in great shape with no major repairs. But its just something to think about.

Also really you can't fit an 11 year old in the back seat..
And did mitsu ever hear of Rear Visibilty ... or do they not need that in Japan.

DSM= Diamond Star Motorworks. It was a joint effort by Mitsu and Chylser (no clue how to spell). Its a Japan body style with american engine (420a, also in dodge neon). Too be honest, the turbo addition shouldnt be considered a DSM, its a japan engine with japan body but they are considered DSM cuz its the big brother to the gs/rs.

Rear visibility thing, I dont think so because I dont think they make the eclipse in Japan. They make the FTO in its place and I dont think it has rear view mirrors.

when i say two seaterness i shoulda been more clear. A s2k has little to no room for audio(thats what im going to college for) teg i can throw stuff in the back seat there and i've fit 4 ppl in the back seat they were cramed but they fit!!! rx7 i dont mind it being a two seater its a frickin rx7 pretty car fast car!!!
