Test drove the new 02 Civic...

I didnt like it. I REALLY dont like where the shift knob is (takes some getting use to). I was driving past the dealer yesterday and said to myself "why not?" I really like the 99-00 Si and so I am now looking to buy one myself instead of the 02. I'll save myself some money.

The drive was cool and the guy that rode with me was totally cool with me accelerating and speeding a little. I really found that the 00' Civic is more "peppier" than the 02'. I really thought that 00' had better acceleration and handling. Maybe it is because the new 02' is a hatchback and the 00' is a coupe? Anyway, the shift knob takes some getting used to. It is also fairly roomy (front and back). I think my next car will be an 00' Si, as I was thinking about purchasing the 02' until after the test drive. Its just not my "cup of tea". Viva la 99-00' Si!

dang i don't know about you man, i don't think that you really drove it cause the new 2002 si handles like nobodys buisness. you sure you test drove it cause you could just be saying that. i have one and mine beat a older si with intake and headers. i beat him by like 2 cars. my car handles soooooooooooooo good, how could you say that the 99 or 00 si's handle better your trippin

I drove one as well, and I think it felt really good. If I remember right, it has more torgue than the 99-00 Si's. It is way roomy, and a lot of the exterior styling seems to have come from the 92-95 hatchback body. Anyway, just a personal opinion here, but they are a pretty car in some ways, could be improved in others. The shifter is awesome because you don't have to reach far from the wheel to grab it, although it takes time to get used to =)

Needless to say...because I already did some where....I did like the Civic SiR (canadian remember) a lot..I drove a 99 SiR then a 02 SiR and I liked the SiR better...the dealer that I drove it with let me race it...I was impressed
