Hey ok im looking to buy a accord a 94-95.

Im looking for:

Good looking car (which it is)
Good car on gas (is it? what about the VTECH?)
Fairly quick car (is it? what about the VTECH?)

So should I get a accord, I think they look really nice :o but have heard there not that speedy  so how SLOW are they? What about if I drop a new engine in it...for about $1,000?

Or should I look at somthing more like a newer civic, or prelude (94-96)??? Would they be quicker?

What about the eclipse?

Thanks!

i think you'd be happier with a newer (96+) civic ex.
lighter quicker and good gas mileage. vtec kicks in about 5k rpm so unless your racing you won't really use it. if you are gas conscious you won't be racing so...

by the way... its VTEC unless you are talking about cordless phones.

accords look nice but they are too heavy to compete.

I agree, but i wouldnt give my accord for the world....anyway modifing is what its all about it makes it more fun right...if you just want a fast car without mods buy a sports car!!!

I'd get a Prelude if I were you. Make sure you get the lude with the H22 engine in it. Much faster than an Accord. That's the engine that people spend thousands of dollars to put in their Accord.

BTW, welcome to HS!

Are those H22's stock in the preludes? How much are they about?

The civics with B18C5 are they stock? how much are they?

How much are the civic ex's?

See I have about $6500 to spend on the CAR its self...you can get accords for $5500-6500 pretty easily...

I'll be honest, you're not going to get too much for $5500-$6500 in the way of a nice prelude, you could maybe find a high mileage 5th gen Accord for that. I'd probably get a civic and work on it as you get the money in that case.

Try for a Prelude SI. H23 engine, great for turbo, 160hp. It will suit your needs just find. The Prelude VTEC is a rare find and will be out of your preice range. Also the 92-94 preludes had all wheel steering on some models! ;)
