Hi everybody!
Pretty cool forum this is!
I'm kinda of new Civic owner, that is I bought an 96 Civic LX last december (auto), after driving a 90 DX for 1 year and a half (manual).
Looking forward to learn lots of stuff about it.
Thanks,
Moriokka.

Hey again.
Back with first question: what should be a reasonable mileage for a D16Y7 engine?
The reason I'm asking is that no matter what, city or highway driving, I can't seem to get better than 10l/100km. I'm also new and in the process of getting used with the automatic tranny. And another thing is I don't have any maintenance or repairs history for this car. I will probably take it to a dealer for a tune-up, but first I'd like to know what can I do/check myself to improve it. The car has 151,000kms. Any thoughts, advice?
Thanks,
Moriokka.

My Q? Hmmm.... I thought nobody's will ever post another reply...
10l / 100km would be ~ 23.5 miles / gallon(US). 150,000kms would be 93,205 miles...

To begin with, I bought some NGK spark plugs yesterday, to replace the ones I have now, and I'm thinking about replacing the air filter, too. Hopefully this will change (improve?) something...
This may seem silly: I've never been to a dealer for a "tune-up". Should I go to a dealer, or any garage will do? What's to be tuned-up? What should I tell them? What should I ask for?

I would go to the Dealer... I've had a local shop tell me to go to the dealer for a Tune up for my Bro's Turbo Eclipse, So I would expect no less for my car.
Just go and Say.... Gosh DARNIT I want my Tune UP NOW... I was Scheduled a WEEK ago... And I've be Waiting this Whole TIME **pound fist on counter** I wanna see the Management in this Dive.
You'll ussually get scheduled a lot faster that way.
But just ask for a Tune up ... they know what to do
