Hey, I got those APC headlight eyebrows and i painted them black with a couple coats, and then put a couple coats of clearcoat on, but its not shiny like my car is. How can I get them shiny so they won't stick out on my car? Thanks!

well did u go thru the whole proccess? maybe 2 coats of primer 2-3 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear? i dono if thats the right amount of each. Then you may need to buff and wax it...

actually it depends on the clear coat. to get a nice and shini one you gotta apply at least 5-6 coats of clear.

they shouldn't charge much at all, IF they have the paint already. If not your gonna pay a shitload for the paint unfortionatly(sp) ;[

What were your steps in painting them? And what kind of Dupli-Color did you use? The actual automotive type?

Well I know a guy that works at the paint shop... I'll just take it to him. Hopefully it won't be to much, and since my car is black (98) then the paint shouldn't be hard to come by. Just thought I'd try it myself first to see if I could do it. I think I might of bought the wrong paint or something... it said gloss, but maybe it was a semi-gloss or something. I dunno... thanks for your imput anyways!

eyebrows are cool if done properly... but only on some cars.

You can also go to the paint shop and have them mix you a special blend of paint that will match your paint exactly. thats what I always do, its a little expensive but it matches the best

Try water sanding them with 2000 or 1200 hundred grid water paper. Make sure you do not go past the clear always keep what ever you are water sanding wet. after water sanding dry and add a rubing compound if you don't have a buffer you'll need to rub it in by hand. Then your last step is to add a good amount of waxs and they should be shine . Just be sure not to go past the clear .
Try that.
