Ok, I don't know where else to put this, so I'm posting this thread in here.
This past saturday I went to a drag strip to race my car. It was my first time ever at a drag strip. I had a lot of fun! So, the next night (sunday) my buddy and I were kickin' it at a coffee shop and he says let's go to the street races. It took a little bit of coaxing, but I finally agreed since we hadn't gone in quite a while. I've been kinda staying away from street races because the cop situation is really hot around here in southern cali, but I've never gotten busted because I'm really careful about not parking too close to where they are racing so when the cops show up I'm not in sight.
Well, cops show up, and I'm parked like a quarter mile away from where everyone else is, and my car's in a really dark alley behind a wall........i figured I was safe. As my friend and I are running towards my car, I get a bad feeling so I tell him not to go to my car, so we went off to the side by some stairs next to a wall.
Well, all the people decide to run from the cops and try and escape down alley my car was parked in, and they found it's a dead end and the cops box them in right near my car.
So, to make a long story shorter, my friend and I hid from the cops behind a 2 foot wall for over an hour while they arrested/ticketed everyone. Luckily they got an emergency call at the last minute and didn't get around to towing my car or looking for the missing owner of the car (who was hiding about 20 feet away!)
So, in conclusion...........be careful with street races! Even if you think ahead and park far away, you could still get busted!!!!

We have no where but public streets to race on here. Which I don't race on because I think it's stupid to race on public streets and plus...my 1.5 just isn't fast enough. But I sure do want to go to some soon. They sound like fun....with out the cops that is.

:D Yeah, I'm done with going to street races. Until January, cops really couldn't do too much around here in Southern Cali if your just spectating, but now they have a new law that allows them to give you a ticket for spectating, they can tow your car if they want, they can even arrest you. A few people got arrested that night.
What sucks even more is that I drove quite a distance from where I live, just to go because in my area there aren't any at all anymore. There used to be really good races less than a minute from my house, with lots of places to hide that I would never be found or caught, but cops got too organized.
I've never actually raced at the street races, that's just asking to get arrested and your car impounded. A few months ago 3 of my friends got their rides impounded, so it's really not worth it. Street racing is really fun to watch, I love it because it's something fun to do, but the consequences far outweight the fun. I'm taking my car to the track from now on, I can watch AND race without worrying about getting in trouble.

Damn what do you people do that they are cracking down on you so hard. I know of two places here in Pa (mainly in Harrisburg that the cops will condone it as long as it dont get out of hand. Hell that one is in a parking lot and the cops will even drive though every now and then to make sure everything is all under control.

Well I guess it's how the municipal government feels about it. I'm not sure how the cops deal with it here in Toronto.
But I need to find out!  :D :)

The cops here are cracking down on it too. In high point NC, there are cops at every racing spot and they are hidden: behind bushes, signs, other parked cars, just waiting for you to race so they can get ya. Its not worth it, find a good safe spot, in a parking lot for instance and do it there if ya have to, but don't race on the streets or you'll get f***ed!

I'm from Orange County area. Cypress/Garden Grove/Anaheim (Disney territory).
The races I almost got busted in were in Puente Hills/City of Industry area, so it's not too far from Ontario.
I heard Ontario races are even worse, cops totally being dick.
Anyway, races are cool, just don't get busted or your SOL.
My friends and I found a really good place at the border of two cities by my area and loud factories all around, so cops can't hear, and it's on border so cops don't go there too often. We raced there a couple times, just me and 2 other friends.....needless to say I beat them both! Teg's rule!
