Hey guys, I'm new to the scene, and I already have a question for the experts...
Just bought a '92 lude and just found out i bought it with no working brake lights! Reverse, signal and parking lights work fine, checked all bulbs back there. I keep blowing fuses every time i start. I took it to my local dealership, and man, they didnt know what the problem was. They said they were going to charge me some cash to do a wire trace. Big $$$ from a dealership. Anyone have any ideas I can try, or a good place to take it for repair other than an expensive dealership in Calgary Alberta?

It seems like itd be a nightmare without knowing the wiring very well to check for shorts. You may want to look into a Helms manual those things are a life saver. It could possibly a relay that has gone out or maybe a short in the wiring. Its really hard to tell you with doing voltage checks, etc...

I know that I had one of my brakes lights busted. When I replaced the bulb and started my car up again boom there goes the lamp. What I did is had to replace the fuse, (which for me is located on the drivers side panel, when you open the door.

This is a great ? and I'm not sure of an answer either....Have you made sure there aren;t any wires that have the coting stripped of and touching metal or anything of that nature????
That would be my only idea right off hand....;)

Grrrrrrr....paid $60 including parts to fix it
It was the one thing i didn't check...aparently the MIDDLE brake light had a faulty resistor or something that kept shorting out my fuses, $2 part ;(
