Its a huge event but I think after the events of yesterday, it should be cancelled. Maybe make it up in a few weeks or something. Just outta respect for our fallen americans.

i dont think they would cancell it, its only a huge event to importers, shit ask a non-car enthusiast wha nopi is and they will look dumbfounded. besides its a huge show with too much money put into it to be canceled, besides, what good would terrorizing a car show do?

Its not about terrorizing a show. Its about showing respect to all the fallin americans around the US that lost their life for one thing. Freedom!! Thats what all countries want. I will not be attending NOPI if they do decide to have it because I believe its not morally right. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and thats mine.

I mean, C'mon so many people died & all..

Out of respect, this event should at least be put to a later date.

Thanks for agreeing with me. I mean, if all sports can be put on hold why can't Nopi. Come on, out of respect for those who lost their lives.

To those of you who stated that Nopi should have cancelled the events of the past weekend.

I would like to point some things out to you. The show had thousands of vehicles pre-registered for the event. They had hundreds of vendors registered. They had to pre book space at the Atlanta Motor Speedway a year in advance. This is not something that you can just cancel and reschedule as easy as you would think.

Many of the contestants were coming from out of state and across country. It would be a HUGE problem for these people to come out only to find the show cancelled.

Many vendors had to set aside time to send crews to the show. Many of the smaller vendors actually had to shut down operations on those days to get people there. Imagine the money that would have been lost by the vendors if they had to come out another weekend.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway is not an easy venue to get. Richard Petty driving school goes on almost weekly there. Trust me, I live a couple of mile away and here the cars all the time. It is really hard to say when the event could have been rescheduled.

Let's also look at it from another point of view. the money that was raised. All weekend you could find places set up to donate to the Red Cross. Nopi officials drove around on carts collecting money. They set up collection areas. They were not the only ones doing it. One company was selling shirts and giving proceeds to the Red Cross. A friend of mine who owns a business was getting $5 a person to take pictures with the 5 models he had in the booth. All of that money went directly to the Red Cross.

It was also very nice to see the silence and stillness that came over the Speedway when the National Anthem was played. You could see tears in the eyes of many.

Do I think they should have cancleed it, absolutely not!

Not cancelling NOPI was a good thing..

The turn out was awesome and they raised alot of $ for the Red Cross...

Indeed the silence during the National anthem was great..SO many people but all showing there pride during that time for American..It was great...

I hope that for those that didn;t go this yr can go and attend next yr...::yes:: ::yes::
