Cold air intake question

Hello. I have a 1995 Accord EX. It's pretty much stock. I'm thinking of adding a cold air intake to it. I'm wondering how much noise does a cold air intake make, and is it a good noise? I don't want the loud sound that some exhaust systems make. Does it give you a good boost in performance? I'm thinking of getting AEM. Is this the best out there for the money? Thanks to anybody who can give me some advice.

I have the AEM CAI on my 94 ex, and I love the sound it makes. Only really loud under hard acceleration. An intake alone won't give you great horsepower gains, but it will give you a start. I would recommend getting one.

if you want a quiet hp gain... get some good headers.
exhaust is the loudest mod you can make, but my intake is pretty loud itself. dont get me wrong it sounds very nice but if you are trying to keep it quiet get some headers.

The intake will make some noise but its a really good noise, its kinda hard to explain, but its not overly loud.

Sounds like an intake is the way to go. Thanks for the good comments. One thing I like that you guys said is that it only gets loud when you get on it. This is the way I want it. I just didn't want to drive around with it loud all of the time. I think I'm going to go with an AEM. I can't wait to order it and get it installed!

after a while, youll hardly notice it. Its not like exaust kinda loud its a very subtle sound.:yes:
