...aren't IP addresses recorded for any user making any post on this site? If so, aren't the IPs of these scum bags being recorded as well? I'm sure they aren't using the same ones all the time, but I'd be interested to know if they ever use the same ones. If that's the case, there should be a way to block/ban by ip.
I'm certainly no expert to how forum suites work, but I thought this was a feature of most. Any thoughts?
I'm trying to think if there is any way for someone to use a different outside IP at will...its late and I cant think for some reason...I suppose they could just be using a bunch of proxies...but even those will have the same pool of IPs...maybe the Tor network. I don't know

I know they're logged...just not sure how or why these assholes continue to spam a car website with foreign porn sites, wang pills, and financial stuff. I know in the moderator tools when you go to ban someone it shows what IP they registered with, but I'm stumped as to how they're getting around them as well. Then again there's any number of programs designed to just what these shitdicks (or shitdick) are doing...blanketing a particular UBB with their useless bullshit. I'm pretty sure some can even get around graphic registration. We should just ban the entire internet. Sure, we wouldn't be able to access the site, but neither would they. A small price to pay for what is essentially a minor inconvenience. Wait...no...that's a dumb idea.

i say whenever another of these douche's is banned, post up the IP address too. If we ever see any that are the same, then we may have a starting point.

Why do these fuckers even bother posting, there isn’t even enough traffic on this site to bother with???

Maybe a better idea would be to log the IPs and use ARIN to look up who hosts it. Most ISPs have policies preventing abuse such as spam and don't take too kindly to people violating those policies. ARIN almost always includes an email link to an ISP's abuse department so reporting it would be easy.

sounds good to me. at very least, listing the IPs gives us something to try ideas on.
Another idea would be only allowing new user signups if an admin says its ok. I remember running across a few sites that adopted that policy. Frustrating, but effective.
