so I'm in vermont for until the 8th of january. I'm staying with my girlfriend at her parents place in Underhill, Vermont. Needless to say I love it here, it's been snowing all day so far and I love it. This is the first time I've ever seen snow, and if you need to ask why I'll just say I lived in Florida for all but 1 year of my life.
anyways its beautiful here.
some photos I've taken so far

I can't say I like snow all year. It's nice to visit in but if you're just visiting its not the same as living in it.
Snow is alot of work and makes daily activities more work and dangerous.

How do you live to be 20 and never see snow? I mean...I know you grew up in Florida Darin...but I would think you'd at least see some on a vacation or something.

That's nothing Darin.. If everything wasn't so fucked up the entire northeast would be buried in snow right now

well the fact is I lived in florida, there is no snow ever and we never went out of state for christmas break. it was pretty lame and sad.
As for you Rob, I would be happy to live in a area with actual seasons. I live in california and there is two seasons....summer and fire season...and Florida is just humid season. Once i graduate from Brooks I told my girlfriend that we will probably be moving back out to new england...most likely somewhere in vermont because its definatly the best state I've ever been to. and I've been to something like 33 states.
I'm a snow person...today i helped my girlfriends dad plow the 1/4 mile driveway lol (they live a ways away from the nearest road..which is a dirt road) and I stode in the snow with her dad while he did final repairs on the old eurovan lol....

Hey now I'm 17 and I haven't seen snow yet for the same damned reasons. For fuck's sake we went to Alaska twice and never got to play in the snow! :grumpy:
I envy you Darin! You suck, you don't know how ackward it is to eat dinner with the parents still >_<. Dad doesn't talk still and mom just asks me things that piss me off lol. I can't wait to graduate in May. Are you gonna be able to come down for it by any chance?

I think you'll grow old of it soon enough. I've lived with snow all my life, I'm tired of the 5 months of heavy jackets + boots, bad traffic, dirty roads and the clean up required.
Here in Toronto we're experiencing our first Dec/Jan without snow. It's wonderful.
I think people who dont experience snow on a regular basis like the idea of snow, but until they live with it year in and year out have a tough time understanding the impact on their lives.
I relate snow to living in Hawai. When you visit Hawai seems amazing, interestingly enough most mainlanders can't stand more then a year, even on the big island.
I'm moving to Cali, and when i want snow I'll hope the $50 flight to the mountains, and then leave the snow there.

Jesus you make snow seem like some kind of disease.. I've lived in Maine my entire life, and I still love the snow.

he's just a cranky old canadian. I'd be more than willing to live in a place with snow, I don't mind plowing or digging out a driveway.

I gotta agree with Rob. If I'd never been around snow I'd probably be excited, too. I know I was when we first moved here from Texas. It's cool when you're young because you don't have to drive and they cancel school. When you get older you figure out that they don't cancel work just because it snowed and you have to brave slippery streets with every asshole in the city, half of them driving like there's no snow at all and the other half going 10mph when it's just flurries. Sooner or later you'll figure out that any kind of weather makes people retarded and snow brings that out really fucking fast.
But hey...I like Kansas City. It doesn't snow too much but we still have seasons. This year it's only really snowed once and we just saw our 2nd December ever with no snow. In fact, yesterday was the first day it's actually been cold in weeks. High 50s/low 60s in December? Thanks, global warming!

you know it may also have something to do with the fact that my girlfriends house is in the woods in a small town. You can't see any neighbors from their home and you can't hear any cars ever. We went into Burlington, VT a few times and the drivers there are retarded but not here in Underhill. It probably all depends on the area i guess.
