A New Email Virus in town. watch your e-mail
If you receive an email whose subject heading reads "new photos from my party!" please do not click on the attachment. Although the email states that the attachment is a Web page, it is really a virus program.
The virus will send itself to everyone on your name and address book, and also load a back door trojan on your machine. This trojan will allow someone to remotely access your machine at a later date.
The email will come from someone you know because they clicked on the attachment, compromised their machine with the virus and sent it to everyone on their name and address book -- including you. If you receive this email, please let the person know you received a virus from them. If you get infected, the latest version of McAfee will remove the virus.
The email looks like:
Subject: new photos from my party!
Body: Hello!
My party... It was absolutely amazing!
I have attached my web page with new photos!
If you can please make color prints of my photos. Thanks!
Attachment: www.myparty.yahoo.com

and by the way the virus is not harmless. it's a trojan which will create a breech in security and give others acces to your computer:mad:

I'm on an engineering e-mail list w/ about 200+ people from school, and many were from them. They are still pouring in.

guys if a virus scan can find and stop the infected files then it will stop them as soon as they open.

I had someone I didn't even know send this to me. I replied and advised him on the issue. Never heard back. I wonder if his computer is still up & working.

Troj/Msstake-A Information (the trojan it drops)

The trojan allows remote access to the infected computer. Even after you remove the virus, the hacker can still gain access to your system. You have to clean the trojan as well.

According to what this guy is saying, there is only a trojen. Which is found as soon as opened by any virus scan out. A trojen and a virus is pointless because whats a person going to get access to if a virus has destroyed the HD?? No one should be worried by any means.

You missed something. The virus itself does not destroy the hard drive. All it does it propagate the trojan that's attached. Think of it like a parasite. It doesn't "kill" its host because thats how it survives.
So yes, everyone does need to worry.
