lol :D I got tired of cooling off the bathrooms. By sealing the 2 bathroom vents off, I've increased the flow a decent amount to the main bedroom. Even with the vents closed, they still leaked air. Alot.

Left hole goes to the bedroom. Right hole is the incoming air.

good idea, there's a room or two I needed to completely seal off but couldn't think of a good way to do it. :thumbsup:

i have an invention idea that deals with a/c and heating vents and saving electricity but I'm not telling anyone!

I used a colored large magnet that will stick to the vent cover. It is easy to install and will even work on vents on the walls.

I've seen that used before. I didn't like the idea of seeing the magnet though. Plus with the patented Cool-lock ;) I was able to seal all the areas on the back of the register.

that was what I wanted to use but my vents aren't flat on the face of them, so a magnet wasn't gonna work for mine.

Those its interesting, I dont think it actually changes your electric bill.

Much I'm sure. But I imagine it has some effect. Since I don't need to turn the a/c down as low, the a/c unit won't run as much. That's my logic.

or you could just clean the heat transfer unit and you will be good to go. i did that on mine and it barely ran in 100 degree weather, and inside it was still very cold.

as long as you don't seal off the area that has the thermostat, I think you'll come out ahead when comparing your savings with the price of the duct tape you used.

the thing outside? whats there to clean? besides the obvious outer part.
