I'll admit there's a lot of VWs out there that I don't like, but a large part of them look good.. At least most VW owners don't throw axle backs, altezzas or decals on their cars.. The fastest VW in the world is privately owned, and doesn't have sponsors covering the car..

I don't know about that. I personaly haven't owned one, but I kind of like the Jetta GLI. The body style before the "new" Jetta. 6spd, 18" wheels, Recaro seats.... The interior was nice too.

Seriously man.. I've seen some SICK VWs.. Hell I know a few guys that own them. It's impressive watching them pull over 300hp out of a stock 1.8L motor with turbo upgrades and use them as daily drivers.

word.. my buddy has a 1.8T audi engine in his MK2 golf, 350+ whp on stock internals.

The ONLY thing lamer than VW's in general is VW Owners.

I've NEVER in my life met such a bunch of losers...

ALL of them are experts and techs and ALL of them insist every other one doesn't know what they're talking about...

VW's are CRAPPY CRAPPY cars... if you knew ANYTHING about cars prior to buying a VW you wouldn't have bought a VW... They're AWFUL in almost every single way... they've made SOME improvements over the past decade but IMO they're still the CRAPPIEST cars made.

And to top it off they have an "uber alles" attitude.

F VW F VW Drivers.

Not only are VW's crappy but ALL german cars are crappy BMW, Audi, Mercedes... ALL suck ass...

They (germans) have this HUGE reputation for being GREAT engineers... but truth of it is that america took most of their good engineers after WWII and they were left with the dregs... they still have SOME degree of quality in the MECHANICAL engineering... but Electrical is like a drunkard did most of their work.

VW Enthusiests are the most ill-informed, whiney, finger pointing losers ever.

Side note to above... a couple of friends of mine own VW's and one of them is slowly realizing that his dream car is just that... exists ONLY in his mind...

Don't get me wrong it's a nice looking car and in GREAT condition for a VW... but it's a bigger POS than my beat up civic with almost twice as many miles.

The other one owns a brand new GTI... and I gotta hand it to VW... that's a really nice car... inside, outside, and performance wise. Seats are second to NONE... seriously they are the best seats I've EVER sat in in my life.

Oh and those two dudes are also pretty ok people but I've met quite a few "characters" through them that are in the VW scene around the NE.

anyway VW's are slow as shit too, one of my friends had a 2.0 GTI, turboed the shit out of it, 20lbs of boost he only made 230whp then he fianlly relized vw's are total shit and bought a LT1 TransAm

my other friend has a 1.8T build bottom end running 28+lbs with a GT2871 and he only made 270whp, fucking sad, he always claims he makes 300+ but I saw the dyno sheet, jackass

i've been hanging out with a german chick and not home all day.. still not at home.. tonight when I get home they'll get posted.. and they're rich kid cars? funny part is I don't know ANY rich kids around here that drive around in them that are modded.. There's an exception to every rule. There'll always be the 500hp Honda. There'll always be the 10 second Nissan. The problem is that one car doesn't redeem a whole brand. Ok...so if I'm to believe that dyno sheet, dude's got a fast VW. So what? I could still take him with my extremely low tech dumbestic. The point is that VWs are girl's cars, plain and simple. Every time I see a guy in a VW, I question his sexual orientation (again, the R32s are an exception). And they're really not "light as fuck". For a car to be built solidly, it has to have weight. There's almost no way around that in conventional automotive practice. Either you build a solid exotic with a chromoly monocoque chassis or you suck it up, add on the pounds, and build a heavy ass car. There's no 2 ways about it.

Ok so me and my cousins took off in the integra (Yea an Acura heading to the biggest VW show in the world) at about 5:30 friday morning from Maine, made it to the hotel in Jersey at about 12.. Started drinking by 12:30.. Doing some of these antics..

Were shortly passed out well before 8.

Saturday was the first day of the show.. Woke up at about 10, made it the track by 11:30 and it was insane. Biggest car show I've ever been to, much less mostly one manufacturer. Shit tons of MK3 and 4's, quite a few MK5's and a MK1 and 2 here and there.

I didn't snag many pictures at the show because I was a smart one and didn't pack shorts, and it was easily 95+ both days.. So walking around and taking pictures of cars wasn't exactly my cup of tea. Besides if any of you know me I don't care for show cars, so I was in the stands watching the drags or the autocross most of the day.. The other part was watching the fine women walking around.

Got back to the hotel after driving around for a hour lost.. Took some pictures around the hotel..

Saturday night met up with some kids from New Hampshire that were staying down the hall, played more beer pong, got really wasted.. Started walking around the hotel smoking butts and carrying a trash can filled with ice and beer.. Nobody said shit it was great. Then we went outside to drink in the parking lot and were telling all the cars that drove by to burn out, and all the girls that walked by to dump em out.

Woke up even earlier Sunday because the show started earlier, watched more drag racing as they were in the finals now. Took some shots of the show (I was impressed by the size of it, couldn't believe how many cars and people there were)

The funny story that goes along with this is though that it was some rich prick driving it around and kept sqawking the tires all around the show then something finally went BOOM and they had to push it in front of one of the vendors where it sat the rest of the day.

Then leaving the show Sunday I didn't realize it but they had the RGT Jetta there.. 550 AWP... Didn't get any shots of the actual car because people were crowded around it but got a shitty engine shot and a shot of the card in the window..

Made it back to the hotel without getting lost.. Just relaxed for the evening and left 8ish Monday morning and made it back home at 2:30.. All in all an enjoyable extended weekend.. Did some drinking, saw some nice cars and had fun.
