View Full Version : Junk yard parts anyone?

Today I had a BLAST in a junk yard :) I spent 3 hours there just walking around and picking through this and that.
I was able to get several things that I needed and only spend $2.06 (which includes the $1 entrance fee)!
Sad thing is, I forgot to look for a couple things, and I will probably be going back tomorrow or this weekend.
SO...

If anyone wants me to look for anything, just let me know. There are a TON of cars at this place, definately over several thousand, all in catagories (ford, chevy, import, 4x4, etc).
There are like 5 DA integras, 3+ EF hatches, some DSMs, AE92s (no damn 86s...trust me I looked :D ), theres even an RX7 13B...basically lots of older cars...

I'll pick up basically anything under 10lbs or up to the size of a small dog (remember, Ive got to lug these parts around).
I have a price list for everything they sell, so I can tell you what it will cost up front...

no DC tegs or EK's
There was a del sol s tranny...but no one wants that anyway

JDMFantasy2k
04-27-2006, 09:05 PM
was the rest of the del sol there? cause i believe i can use that shift linkage :hmmm:

pdiggitydogg
04-27-2006, 09:23 PM
the linkage was there, but there are 2 issues for you
1) its D linkage
2) del sol linkage is shorter than civic/integra

The sol was missing quite a few things...I took its front tranny mount bolts :D
But if you want anything else off it, I can look

Find me a low mileage LS6 please. T56 6 speed with it would rock. and for under $4000 please.

Pat, I want that DelSol shifter and a coolant reservoir/overflow bracket pleeeeease. The overflow bracket should be the same on any 92-00 civics. So that Delsol one should work. Also, while you are there, go to GM section and clip those map sensor connectors. They will work for 3 bar map sensors. It just have to be notched later. I have like ten of those already but you can sell them. The connectors are GREEN. You cant miss them. Look for OBD0/1 injector clips also. You'll need a set for your upgraded injector when it's time for you t boost. It doesnt have to be Honda. Hyundai has them too.

I love junkyards!

any 5th gen preludes?

pdiggitydogg
04-27-2006, 11:26 PM
No 5th gens...I did look for those.

3bar maps and injector clips are already on my list for trip 2! :D
I'll snag the map connectors for you, if I see them. I have no idea what cars will have them though, so I need a little help with that...

Shifter should still be hiding under the sol...I hid it thinking I might want it for myself, but I'll grab it for you. (Crap, they want $15 for it...)
MAP sensors are $8 each, connectors/clips should be super cheap (if I get the same cashier again), bracket for the reservoir is also $8

ef front seats, will pay you extra for the weight and awkwardness(also if the have red stitch, i will give you an extra 50 bucks, the gut i sold the car too wants matching front seats, and shit)

edit: if you find a driver's side front red stitch seat thats all i need pat you are a life savior

Any 275/40/18 tires? haha

pdiggitydogg
04-28-2006, 12:25 PM
Seats are $45 each. I'll take a camera with me next time and snap what they have.

ECUs are $20 "As Is"

Definately no tires that size :D

I will be going tomorrow, I guess. Id love to go today, but I'll wait for you guys to let me know about stuff...

pdiggitydogg
04-28-2006, 04:51 PM

But even if there were, the top is gone, so theyd be rain soaked and shitty

AkimboStylee
04-28-2006, 10:29 PM
45 a seat, i will give you 15(unless more?) on top of that and i will pay for shipping(of course)

pdiggitydogg
04-28-2006, 10:46 PM
Yeah, I have no problems with that I guess. Seats arent bad.
I will go there tomorrow and take a couple pics of anything that looks decent - I wont bother with ones that are ripped, tattered, or smelly

Pat, I've already pocketed plenty of those GM map sensor....lol. The connectors are on almost any GM cars made in the 90's. You cannot miss them. It will be normally mounted on the firewall. It is a green connector with 3 wires. I'll post some pics tommorow.

All I really want is the reservoir bracket and Delsol shifter.

You might want to grab a resistor box for you as well, in case you end up getting P/H injectors for the future. Those are easy scores. Grab a handfull of 10, 12, 14, 17mm nuts/bolts. They are useful for many applications once you start fabricating stuff for your project. If that Delsol still has the motor harness, that is another great score since it is probably OBD1. At least cut and take the following connectors:
-ECU connectors (for the sole pupose of the pins... whenever you start swapping motors on a non-VTEC car, adding pins to ECU is required)
-Alternator connector (in case you have to use OBD1 alternator in the future. OBD1 and OBD2 has two different connectors but the alternator itself is interchangeable)
-Oil pressure sensor (for back up)
-Clutch slave cylinder

Have fun bro!

Ok...back from trip 2
It was so busy there today...there was literally a person at every single car I went to, if not more. The parking lot was totally full.
It was no where near as much fun with that many people there.

There are NO ecu's I looked in every single DA, and then onto random cars just to look...none

The seats in the EF's werent worth anything...not even me taking a picture. It seems some people think its funny to tear seats for no reason, other than to do it.

Somebody found the del sol shifter, under the car...it was gone...so was the coolant reservoir bracket (seriously wasnt expecting that to be gone at all).

The only thing I was able to get were map sensor connectors. I was able to get 3 before some guy decided that wasnt cool and started to bitch...so I just left...
I REALLY wanted to get a 3bar sensor for myself, but they all had different numbers and I didnt want to pay $15 for something I wasnt sure was correct...

For myself, I got more random nuts/bolts, a resistor box (the only one apparently), a map connector for me, an injector harnesses, and a termoswitch...

dayum! I knew it. Trust me bro, that bracket and the delsol shifter always get snugged. It'll be just a matter of time until people realize that those GM connectors can work on 3 bar map sensors with minor modifications. Their A/C compressor clips are the same too.....

pdiggitydogg
04-29-2006, 06:25 PM
what kinds of modifications need to be done?

You have to notch or cut a slit. Once i get my 3 bar back, I will post s pic on waht I did to fit it...

I wish we had junk yards like that around here! Last time I went to one for the DB8, the most exciting thing I saw was a jar of piss on on the ground that I almost knocked over.

I need a shift boot for an s14 chassis and a shift boot for my bmw. Homie hook up, PAT! =P

Here ya go Pat. These are the slits I had to do with those standard GM MAP sensor clip:

[refer to the pic as if the connector is facing you with the lock clip on top]

*Pic 1 shows the slit I had to do on the left prong. 9 o'clock position
*Pic 2 shows the slit I had to do on the middle prong. 6 o'clock postion
*Pic 3 is the final fit on the GM 3 bar map sensor.

Use a dremmel........

If you're still going to that junkyard, I'm interested in the center console out of a 94+ integra.

I would have been interested in a pr4 ecu also, but you said they're all gone. boo.

let me know, man. I'm interested. email: b1ind34@gmail.com

He went in April

hence the IF.

I honestly hate dealing with people on ebay, and my junkyard here has only one honda that is stripped almost all the way down.

If anyone is making a trip to their yard, and want to ship parts, here is my running list of things I'm looking for, if anyone cares:

94-00 integra center console (per this article: http://www.fourthgenhatch.net/integraconsole.html )

90-93 integra pr4 ecu (must be from a manual transmission. model# ends in A01.)

90-93 integra IACV. its connected on the backside of the intake manifold, two coolant lines going to it and a 2p electrical connector.

man, I wish someone would wreck their integra around here...

heh well I don't have the money for the parts I'm looking for yet anyway really, just checking to see if you still went.. I can throw some extra cash in if you're willing to go when I get the money to get the parts I need

blind34_1
07-02-2006, 08:25 PM
cool, yeah im interested in the iacv, if you go. don't make a special trip or anything, though.

another thing I thought of was I need all the under-engine plastic guards. There are four plastic covers, plus all the plastic screws and bolts and such. If these are available at your yard, I'm interested also.

let me know: b1ind34@gmail.com
