Thinking of an Acura TSX? RSX? Lexus IS300? SC300?
Any suggestions...comments..questions...

Well my cuz just got a brand new 06 RSX type S, and naturally i drove it. HOLY SHIT, i was very impressed. In a straight line i'm sure my civic (when it was boosted) would eat it, but take a corner in that thing and it is unreal. I dare say i like it better than a wrx in that respect (and i love rex's). The fit and finish is awesome and the interior styling is very captivating and set up very good. Seats, pedals, and the shifter are top notch. Definately something i'd lose my license in.

TSX is nice too, but when i see that i think TL and that is just :wackit: but it's also :dollar:

Legacy GT. a 13.8 second car right out of the box, plus awd. and the base starts about 2k less than the TSX

im thinking of either a tsx or a is300 when i graduate/get a real job. the sc300 would be nice but i'd be too tempted to mod it same thing with an rsx, although if i was getting an rsx i'd rather have a ITR i think.. and leave it stock-ish and i dont really want to get either as my next car for that reason, i'd rather get one as a second car to mod.

I'm not really going for speed. My bike is fast enough. And plus I'm getting a new Gixxer 750. So that is good enough for me.

Ummm the legacy. I dont like subaru's. I like STI's but that's it.
And I will be modding them. I'll be going for the whole clean look with uber rare jdm parts. So i don't know.

I'd have to say that the IS300 is one of my favorite imports...probably because it's a RWD V6. I remember seeing on in a mag a long time ago that was pushing 600 turbo'ed hp. It was balls fast until a fuel injector failed and holed a piston...but the company that built it was using it as a prototype. Can't beat the mod-ability of a Fox body Mustang.:D (end shameless plug)

I like the IS300 too but its kinda slow which isn't so bad since you got a bike, but its kinda slow and gets pretty bad gas mileage.

Yeah I have heard that IS300's have pretty shitty gast mileage. I'm goign to go start test driving tomorrow. Forgot about 4 door 3 series. Going to test those also. I'll see if I can't get a digi and take some pics of the cars I'm looking at.

the last generations sucked, but the 05+ has lots it's farmer's car interior and moved a bit more upscale.

And the LGT is faster than the wrx stock for stock.

Yeah I know they are fast. But really. Meh...still doesn't do it.

Personally I wouldn't by a Legacy GT it just isnt' finished nice enough for what it is. The H motors just dont sound nice after a few miles are put on them.

Get the Acura anyone of them, you cant go wrong. My folks drive the TSX and its alot of fun for a 4 door 4 cycl

Man that's funny... I HATE my 05 legacy... EXCEPT the finish...

It's a WAY modern comfortable well designed interior... I think it's classier than ANY other new car SERIOUSLY. None of those ugly ass euro guage pods sticking out or the weird ass steering wheels everyone has now... I'd say short of BMW they're the nicest interiors out there... Even the acura's are too busy IMO.

A guy I work with has the TL that thing is NICE... but WAY WAY too common imo. And EVERYONE gets it in the gunmetal color, and not many other colors look good on the car.

I agree with GT... the IS is the nicest IMO... unless you could afford a GS lexus... then that's DEFINATELY what I'd go for... the 05/06's are SICK looking.

See I'm not going BRAND BRAND new...no 05/06's. Probabaly between 01-04. I'm going to look at a few TSX's and RSX's today. Maybe to the BMW dealership. Who knows. I'll just go all over the place. hah
TL's are pretty pricy. So I'm probabaly not going to go with them. I think they are just out of my price rance. But if I could. I would get them. They are amazing.

And yeah Robert. I've heard that the TSX's are super fun to drive.

I love the tsx, if thats of any matter. If I were to consider something larger that would be the car for me, no question.
Small? RSX, the 04s at the latest because I dont like the civic-y headlights they got later

KwikR6

Yeah....I think it's probabaly goign to be leaning towards the tsx.

What's wrong with wanting a BMW? they're extremely nice cars.. Once I start doing coatings at work I'll be making enough money to afford a E36 M3 (I hope haha if everything goes right).. It's not going to be nearly as nice as my friend's E46 but it'll do the trick for me. :)

BMWs are awesome, I've been thinking of trading the Z+cash in for a 2003ish M5...

TSX or TL. Not a speed demon but looks nice IMO. Comfortable ride too...

You mean the Z LOTS of cash as a DOWNPAYMENT???

Those things are like 50k+ for a 00.

Great car but still...

Oh and in general I think BMW's are GREAT cars too... IF you have about 10k anually to dump into all the freaking issues they have... AND if you know a mechanic that has TONS and TONS of experience and factory training... AND impossible to get diagnoses tools...

My gripe with BMW is almost all to do with their electrical systems... the wiring in those things is a NIGHTMARE... and the computers lock ANYONE but a dealer from doing any serious changes/fixes.

A buddy of mine picked up a 95 3 series and spent like 1k on it just after buying it fixing wiring problems...

Not as bad as audi... but pretty damn bad.

SUPER comfortable though... and GREAT chassis...

Man...if you think German cars are electrical nightmares, you've obviously never worked on an older British car like a Triumph. It's enough make you wanna eat a bullet. Hell...not even the BRITISH can figure those things out.

that's why most of the brit cars manufacturers are out of business.

nonov, you are WAY off on your pricing of M5s. Just two examples:

I'm pretty good with electronics considering I was an electrician on $5million+ yachts. ;) Get 20k for my Z (lots of mods) and throw some of the cash I have sittin around at it and I could walk away with an M5 tomorrow... I just think a nice down payment on a house would be better in the long run.

Well yea.. They're not known for reliability.. If I wanted a reliable car I'd get another Honda.. But for a sports/luxury car BMW is the way to go. Anything from Europe has expensive maintenance costs.
