Most of you know that I'm currently deployed overseas with my ship. I'm supposed to be here for a total of 6 months but luck struck and I will be transfering to shore back to homeport. I was gone for just a little over 2 months and a month of that spent in Rota, Spain while recoverring after an eye injury.

Two weeks ago, I was in Sigonella Sicily. That was about my third time there in the past 3 years. Mt. Etna still looks great as always.....

Then last week, we stopped by Split, Croatia. Beautiful place and has the pretiest women I have ever seen in one place. They like Americans and the women to men ratio is like 6-1. The only problem is, they are mostly between 14-18 yrs old.... and at times, it was hard to tell who is who.... I had to stay away from alcohol to avoid any stupidity on my side. Plus, I really love the person I'm involved right now.

I took a tour bus sponsored by my ship to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Another great place full of history. It was a 4 hour ride one way. The day ride was amazing and full of scenic views of the adriatic sea and territorial islands of Croatia. It was a 4 hour ride of nothing but mountain passes and narrow roads. These roads are so scrary that I wouldnt even dare race on it. I sat on the front seat of a 50 man bus just to study the roads. It was waayyy too unpredictable to haul ass....... pics later......

On the way to Dubrovnik, we had to cross a small town in Bosnia. We stopped there for a little and had talked to locals. I thought they were really nice and not as anti-american as some might think.

Now I'm back floating around the ocean on the way to our next port. I cant mention our destination. All I can say is that I'll be flying home next. It's time to move on. I have been stationed on this ship for the past 4 yrs and 3 months. I will be taking duties as a Shipboard Engineering Inspector and Trainer on shore. I will still be going to ships but not to work on it, but rather as an inspector..... This should be a more relaxed duty. I should be able to spend more time on continuing the project Teg.......

Shit bro, I wish I have one of those GTE's in my garage. I'd be strapping that focker on my Honda. Maybe then I can satisfy my urge to go faster....lol

That is the only advantage Navy has. We dont ever set foot on sand and have bullets flying across our asses. We fight the war from a distance......

Welcome home, thanks for serving.

Ever work on/around an active carrier?

My Naval job description keeps me away from the carrier. I've been on one just to walk around but never as an actual crew member. Being a Gas Turbine Tech (Propulsion) pretty much limits me to Cruisers, Destroyers, and Frigates. It's funny tho. We sometimes get crew members that used to be on a carrier. They get sea sick.....:pukey
