I've got a 98 ex, "jdm" headlights, red/clear tails, greddy evo2 exhaust,4-1 header(off brand, not bad), it got an LS motor, block's been honed and had the crank done, ctr pistons on gsr rods, head has been redone and milled a lot to bump the compression and got all new seals, polished with no port job, 9 angle valve job. The whole thing got new seals, bearings, molly rings, cams(aftermarket, cant remember what kind, got them from a friend), str gears, aftermarket crank pully, b16 tranny w/4 puck clutch, i'm pushing prolly 12:1- 12.5:1 compression. Rollin on some bronze hx rims w/polished lip right now. 99 si seats, type r shift boot(black w/red stitch) with a no name short shifter. Thats about it. I know i want to find an aftermarket intake manifold and prolly a better header but this is my first all motor set up and i'm looking for some suggestions as to what i can do without going too crazy on it.
Thanks, A

Figure out what cams, and then change to crower 404-2 instead, along with dual springs and ti retainers
and change to better seats

skunk2 and victor x manifolds come to mind. also that whole setup begs for a hondata or aem ecu, unless you managed to change the maps on your ecu.

interesting, an all motor ls engine, you might want to consider doing an lsvtec setup.

not too hot on the ls/vtec setups personally, i have had a gsr, single cam all motor, single cam turbo, and a single cam juiced just for fun. so now my goal is to set up an all motor ls set up and it seems like it would be pretty much the same as any of my other set ups but i'm just looking for idea's/suggestions so that i make a well planned set up. Never used any kind of hondata or anything like it, what would be the benefit of it???what would i need besides someone to tune it???

not a fan of the skunk2 mani, i've had one of those tested and the runners are all different sizes and it does not flow too well, better than stock yes, but not what i want to run. Have you run the victor x mani???worth the $$$???

just my personal preference - im using crower springs/retainers and 403's in my ls turbo build (...or 404, I really cant decide)
Crowers are fairly inexpensive and, now with the new 20%+ cores, they are fairly durable.
I know the 403's will continue making power to at least 8.5k, the 404's are higher (but I wouldnt go above 9k unless you have a block girdle)
Did you ever measure the lift/duration of the cams you have in now? They cant be too wild, because you didnt mention any dual springs.
Tuning of anything will always net you the best gains over just winging it. Hondata has a lot of features that are fairly intricate and will net the most gain (over say an afc)

good info, no aftermarket springs/retainers, just stock, cam is fairly mild just to give it a little umph. I dont know too much about the whole hondata deal so any info is just going to help me to understand, thanks for that

so bumping up the compression was ok on the stock computer? did you have to pull timing?

If you're staying all motor then you might want to spend big money on the header and intake...
The bismoto header is supposed to be leaps and bounds better than the rest... that's internet chatter though... no personal experience with it myself.
