View Full Version : Does Honda have a BIW program?

So for years Ford has had a program with Mustangs called BIW (or 'body in white"). Essentially they will sell a body and frame...no wheels, suspension, engine, wiring, windows, etc...just the body and frame for around $3K. The cars are generally sort of scratch and dent...maybe the body bumped another car on the assembly line of the primer (they're not even painted...hence the name) didn't finish right. So they sell the stuff off to be used as race-only cars. You get no VIN (can't ever be registered and/or street driven) and you have to build from the ground up. I just figured it'd be interesting to get a BIW Civic or something and build a RWD V8 or some crazy shit, but I've never heard of Honda doing anything like that.

Honda doesn't make such mistakes as "scratch & dent" so I doubt they do :D :smoking:

be nice if you could get an NSX shell for 3G's

heh, and it's be cool if you could get a VIN for it and register it as a self produced car or however the fuck they do it, and then throw a v8 in it or something cool. Mmm that's be one hot car

Trust me...every car company fucks up on the production line somehow or another.

I imagine that some "kit-Car" company out there makes a "BIW" model for almost everything.

but this should help a bit :google:
