I've been thinking about getting a corn snake, I've always liked reptiles and snakes even more. and I have a friend here in cali who owns 3 corn snakes and a rattlesnake so I have a hook up to get fair priced snakes. does anyone else here own any snakes?

get a hold of dingo some time he has two and is looking for some more. He should be able to help you with making decision s on which to get

What are you going to feed it? A daily supply of cats? ;)

I never understood having a snake as a pet.
Dictionary.com:
pet n.
1. An animal kept for amusement or companionship.
Just doesn't make sense. What would you do with it? Leave it in its cage and stare at it? They look cool, but that's about it. Hopefully you won't end up like most snake owners that think owning a snake is cool and end up dumping some day.
Guess I'm more of a dog person(cats are too smart). I'd rather have an animal that responds to me. The only response you will get from a rattlesnake is a trip to the ER.
Though I do have a freshwater aquarium. Nothing in there will bite me though.;)

ehh i had a snake once... dumb pet imo. feeding was the only entertaining time, but even that got old. and the thing got too big and too strong where if it wanted to hold onto something, there wasnt shit i could do about it.

A chameleon would be cool... I have a dog and a freshwater aquarium and love laying in bed and staring at it when bored... just make sure you get one big enough for big fish that like to swim (as do mine).

Aquariums are awesome. The can be so therapeutic once they are up and running well. They can be a PITA to get running properly though. Plus knowing why type of fish works in what water with what other kinds of fish is fun too.
I have to smaller Freshwater tanks in my house. A 10 and a 20 Gallon. I would love to do larger, but I don't really have the room for one.

Mine is only 20 gallons but its big enough for decent sized fish. Have 3 liquor bottles in there, assorted little fish, a huge angelfish, two larger shiny fish (fuck if I know what type), and I had an albino shark that was probably 5" and would hang out in the necks of the liquor bottles. It died when I left town for 2 weeks (apparently it cant survive on the food tablet things) so I got 3 baby albinos now and they've already learned about the bottles. :D
Oh yeah, and my aquarium is in my bedroom so I get to sleep to the waterfall sound... very nice. :)
