I cant believe the NEWS. I can only imagine what the families are going through. That is some fucked up shit!

If you havent heard yet, there was an accident that trapped 13 people inside a coal mine in West Virginia. About over 40 hours later, it was announced that miraculously, 12 are alive and 1 missing. I *sigh and even told myself, thank God. About 3 hours later, a very disturbing NEWS that blew my mind....... a "miscommunication", the officials say. The Governor and the coal mine execs reannounced that there was actually only one person that is saved (but in critical condition) and all others are dead.....

How in the fuk would a miscommunication like that occur?

Dude...it's West Virginia. I suspect incest played a significant role (think: "Deliverance").

I saw that shit too. I couldn't believe that they first came out and said 12 were alive and then came back with 12 are dead. But hey...this is a common thing in WV and PA where the coal industry is huge. I just can't imagine being told that my dad/brother/cousin was ok and then slammed in the face with the fact that they were, in fact, dead.

I honestly can't think of one and it's only a couple hours from my house. I've actually been there a couple of times (just passing through.):D

So... the news broke that everyone was saved and the family members praised God. When they were announced dead, humans were blamed, not God. WTF?

I don't really know how to take your post man.

Not really God's fault.

I heard that people were alive. And ya know I was really really surprised. But I wasn't shocked when I heard that people are actually dead.

as bad as i feel for everyone involved, they all knew the risks, and even in some of the interviews the family members said that the workers knew they would probobly die in the mines. i mean 12 people was all that died, its trajic yes. i dont wish anything like this upon anyone, but i mean shit people die every day in much worse ways then they did. they all slipped away into sleep then never woke up. people die every day in fires, car crashes, medical mishaps, etc. all things that are also freak accidents but no one cares because its not some big industry that "should have known" fuck off news, and everyone else. shit happens and even though it does suck, dont go blaming people otherwise you miss the real issue. people lost their family members and i bet they would rather have alone time to morn than a microphone shoved in their face. i know i would.
