put new wheel on car, not it shakes at high speeds...

So yeh I hit a curb a few months ago and was riding on my brothers stock wheel ever since. I finally got a new wheel this weekend, same tire size and honda wheel. I replaced it for the front passenger side and now when I drive on highways it shakes at high speeds and doesnt feel right nor safe. I talked to teh kid I bought it from and he said it was balanced and everything and that since i have a fwd car that I need to have two of the same tires in the front and to throw that one in teh back and that shoudl do the trick. Is this true or did i just by msefl a shitty wheel, it looked good and tire had some decent tread...

it isnt bent and my alignemnt got worse when i put on this wheel...it was always off, but the thing is my car didtn shake when i had my brothers wheel on

Is the wheel balanced on the tire? For example, are there little weight stuck to the rim somewhere?

Caveat emptor. Never take anything a seller tells you as an outright fact. You definitely need to get the wheel balanced. That's what's causing the shake assuming the wheel isn't out of round. You'll definitely want to get it aligned while you're at it. No sense putting a perfectly good wheel on a car with a bad alignment...it'll just chew up your tires.

yeah definately balancing, also make sure the tire is inflated properly and there aren't any flat spots or imperfections in it.

Sure, alignment can cause vibrations...but it's got to waaaay off. It usually causes them between 30-35mph and again around 60-65mph.

well, he said he hit a curb so it probably is the alignment. Assuming that the seller wasn't lying the problem is most likely the alignment.

I guess I'll just take it to sears and have them take it look, its jus all of a sudden I put this wheel on and 1. my alignemtne is way worse 2. there is shaking and none of this happened with my brothers wheel so i dunno.

You have a balance issue. Whether its the wheel/tire that youre using as a replacement or the face that you have mismatch on the drive sets. Try putting it in the rear, like the kid suggested and if that doesnt work have it checked for balance/flat spots.

If its neither of those, you may have bent something when you hit the curb - head to the alignment shop. I say do this last, because its the most expensive of the 3
