Do you have an IP addresses at all?
If you do a ping localhost do you get a reply?
If so, is your router assigning DHCP addresses? Should it be?

Well, I think the problem is the card isnt even being seen.
According to windows, its there and working properly, but then when I check w/ the 'wire-check' program that came with the mother board, its not there at all.
Im guessing I need to maybe try to find some new drivers or something and go from there.

Odd.. You may also want to check the BIOS and make sure it looks like everything is setup okay (if you haven't already.)

yeah, did the bios, updated too.
Im really close to saying "screw it" and going to buy a $12 ethernet card and run that instead of the one off the mother board
Also, I cant load my ti-calc install cd because it says there isnt enough virtual memory. I dont even know why it would say that...

I hate computers. :D I've been having problems for ever with mine at home. I'm hoping it was my video card that has been flaking out and has finally died now. ( I just want to get it fixed. Now it won't boot up anymore.) I don't even get the post on bootup.
I would do an external card, I hate built-in NICs.

i think some of the irq's are conflicting. most of the god damn "all in one" motherborads have issues like that.

yep screw it, i tried another 5 times and still get nothing -
it receieves and sends things, but then I cant connect for shit.
Im going to buy a $12 card.
What the hell do I do about the virtual memory issue? Theres no way in hell there can be a memory issue! This thing is more than 5x as powerful as my last one, and it cant even run a simple install cd!
EDIT*** Found: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=303
Lowered it to what it suggested (300 something) and it runs
Thats pretty ridiculous
Memory issue resolved
