So I've watched 2 movies this week that everyone should really REALLY watch.
1st: "Crash". I'm not sure when this is coming out, but it'll be soon if it's not out already. It follows a bunch of people through a 36 hour period in Los Angeles and deals with race. All sorts of passive racism and stereotypes until everything comes full circle in the end. It also marks suprisingly good performances from Ludicris, Brendon Frasier, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Phillipe, Matt Dillon, and Don Cheadle (possibly the most underrated actor working today).
2nd: "Gunner Palace". It follows a group of Army men and women through their daily lives 4 months after Bush declared "mission accomplished" while they're holed up in a weekend palace of Udey Hussein that was bombed to hell. It's no Michael Moore slanted documentary...it's just soldiers living their normal lives in Iraq. There's a lot of comic relief and a lot of downers when it's reported that some of the gunners were killed during their duties. It's honest, it's human, and it's real. Probably one of the best war documentaries to come out in a long time.
Now go watch...and worship.

Yeah...it does...but the last time I checked the version it had didn't work. I dl'ed it and burned it and my DVD player didn't like it (and my DVD player likes everything).

I agree with Steve, Gunner Palace is good. Funniest part so far. They're out to go kill someone or something and one of the guys says "If the mother fucker has a weapon, then you shoot. If you think the mother fucker has a weapon, let me shoot"

I liked when they were interviewing one guy and you hear an explosion and then some guy off camera shouts "Oh what the fuck?! I'm gonna kill all you motherfuckers!". It was just so random.

I've seen Sin City a few times...all viewings were done less than sober. I liked it...I wouldn't put it in my top 10 list, but it was ok. Now if Jessica Alba had gotten naked...

Sin City was great, but too much blood in my opinion.
Theres actually a Initial-D movie out. Its in Chinese (yes, chinese actors everything), but there are DVD quality pirated files with eng-subs roaming around right now, check it out.

I have the Initial D movie in a few different versions. It took me about 6 tries to get one with decent subs.
I got it off isohunt.com if anyone was interested.
I just watched Four Brothers earlier this evening..I liked it. Who was that dude that played the youngest brother, Jack? Was he in any other movie?

Have I ever lead you astray before...bitch? That movie has one of the best dialogue exchanges I can think of between Don Cheadle and Jennifer Espisito (sp?).
Espisito: How about a geography lesson? My father is from Puerto Rico and my mother is from El Salvador...neither of which is Mexico.
Cheadle: Huh...then the real question is who brought all of those wonderfully diverse cultures together and taught them to park their cars on the front lawn?

Dude...is it just me (as much as I hate to admit it), but did you like Ludicrus in this film? I don't know why, but I really liked watching his character evolve. Actually...I've come to dislike a lot of actors in this movie (like Sandra Bullock), but I thought they all did great jobs. The movie was just THAT good.
