fiber optic signals are carried by light....soooooo isn't it being used now

Sure, fiber optic cable is everywhere - but the speed of the light inside it isnt controlled, just sent.
Very interesting article...even though its shy on the details.
Ive always been one to say that someday, we'll exceed light speed (just as we did with the "sound barrier"). I guess this is the first step

If that's true, it'd open up a whole shitload of possibilities. One could theoretically exceed the speed of light and see thousands of years worth of history in one lifetime since, as one approaches the speed of light, time approaches zero. Or perhaps....time travel, anyone?:D
I'm disappointed, though. They didn't mention if we can control ludicrous speed.

i remember some thing where they stopped a beam of light so really we've already traveled much faster than light :hmmm:

I too can stop beams of light. I just stick my hand in front of them and BAM...brick wall.:D
