Replacing brake pads on a 2001 V6 Accord

Hi I replaced the front brake pads on the V6 Accord with no issues. But when I went to the rear wheels I was not able to compress the cross faced caliper piston. I even used a tool for compressing (wasn't needed in the front calipers) it but couldn't do it. The piston doesn't seem to be stuck or rusted since it can rotate with little effort but it was impossible to compress, I even loose the bleeding screw a little but it compressed just a little, only a few drops of brake fluid came out ot the bleeding screw, I also unhook the hand brake cable linkage.
Is there something I need to do beside trying to compress it? Some special procedure different from the front brakes needs to be done?

you wouldnt happen to have your ebrake pulled while doing this? that would do it, other than that, i cant think of anything else off hand unless both calipers are shot.

Rear calipers do not press in - they spin into the caliper - theyre threaded like a bolt.

No the brake wasn't pulled. I asked the mechanic and he told me to turn the "cross-faced" piston about 1/4th of a turn and it will go in easily, if not (it didn't) he said turn it as if your were screwing it in, I tried that and they went in with very little effort. I loose the bleeding screw when doing this.

BTW the pads have like a protrusion whichi goes on the cross shaped grooves on the piston to prevent it from turning around.

lol.. damn i thought it was the fronts that were like that and the rears were normal :cool: ... i remeber the ebrake had somethin to do with it.
