Has anyone else seen the ads for this show (which I believe will air on NBC)? The basic premise is that they take a family, the mom leaves for a week, and dad has to take care of the kids. My problem? The ads make it sound like there's no way in hell these dads can do the mom's job. What the fuck? What if they took a stay at home mom and made infered that there was no way in hell she could do her husband's job? I swear women would take to the streets and protest that shit. But as long as we're saying a man can't do what his wife does, it's ok? I don't know about the rest of you, but my dad had no problem handling me and my brother. My mom worked 12 hour night shifts 3 days a week as a nurse so she slept a lot during the day. If there's a father out there who can't handle his kids for a week while his wife is away, he wasn't much of a dad to begin with. I'm just calling bullshit on their ads that make it look like the dad totally melts down while his wife is gone. Now before anyone bitches and moans, yes, I realize that being a stay at home parent is probably hard work. But why the fuck is NBC attempting to point out that men would fail where women succeed? I'd like to see the dads stay home for a week while the moms go do their jobs...simple role reversal. Don't send mom to a spa and make dad look like a jackass. I fucking hate TV (except for Law & Order and Adult Swim, of course).

I'm gunna agree and disagree...

I WAS a stay at home dad for like 6months... and it's not easy but it's not as hard as a LOT of women make it out to be... and I found personally that it wasn't hard at all... If I had the money to do that full time I would CERTAINLY prefer raising my kids to working for a living...

HOWEVER... if my mother left my siblings and I with my father for more than 4-5hrs when we were children I probobly wouldn't be here right now...

Some dudes are just not up for it at all... they have NO idea what to do and NO idea how hard it can be if you don't control the situation (but you also have to be flexable).

Overall I agree it's a stupid premise for a show... but I'm SURE it will offer up some entertainment...

And as far as the vice versus show idea... NOW THAT would be funny...

I'd LOVE to see my wife come and do ANY of the job's that I've held for even a day much less a week.

and yes women would freak out if it insinuated that they were incapable of it...

It's just fish out of water for both ideas... some men just don't know anything but their jobs... and some women don't know anything but raising kids...

eventually just about anyone can catch on to just about anything... extremes obviously omitted.

Ahh man it's the same shit over and over with BS like this. For example..make a show the opposite of white chicks called black ho's...and see the uproar and people screaming bloody murder and racism..
This shit makes me mad..its like callin men stupid. My mom worked during the day and my dad worked shift work. So no matter what..my dad was home to raise us more often. And he did a fucking fine job. I'm sick of this shit.
