are they seriously retarted? look at venus... boiling hot. look at mars.. frozen. hmm earth seems to have spawned the only intellegent life in our solar system because of its location. moving farther away will make a year go by longer, if the earth only "jumps" half of its diamiter out then its ~5-10k miles farther from the sun think of how much of a climate difference there is for mexico and canada, and canada is only probobly ~500 miles farther in a strait line from the sun(complete guess, but follow my thought). now the second of many problems is the moon. it orbits earth. if you move earth the moon is going to have to re-adjust somehow. tides will be 100% fucked, and the moon could get sucked in or shoot right off into space. both of which would spell disaster for earth. now lets say that 600 million people(i think thats the figure they gave) can jump and prduce enough force to move the earth out of orbit. i'd be kinda worried about oh i dont know... perhaps a techtonic plate sinking, or causing a massive earthquake/tsunami. all that force will be distributed somewhere, if we can knock the earth off its orbit theres no gurentee its going to stop where we want it to, since in space unless an object is effected by something else, it will continue in its path(i know the suns gravity will stop it eventually). also theres no telling if its going to hold an orbit, earth is moving out and perpendicular to the sun, while the sun is pulling it back creating the circle orbit. the same theory goes into putting shuttles/satillites etc into orbit. how do we bring those in? change their path and let them fall back to earth, but a computer controled fall so it dosnt come back too fast and burn up.


i cant believe germans thought this up, i always thought the were an intellengent race, with the autobahn, porsche, bmw, mercades, great beer, clean beer, and tons of other engineering feats. im ashamed to be part german after reading this.
