ek sir lip is abs plastic
ek em1 lip is a urethan mix (like bumper)

I've always heard the poly urethane lips are better.

Basically, it comes down to how much you want to spend.
ABS is cheaper from the start and can be painted, but it looks fine, generally, just by itself - black plastic.
Urethane is more expensive up front and you almost always have to have it painted.

If the style of the lip is say, like mine:

Its probably safe to leave it unpainted.

If the lip is, however, like the ctr lip (98 spec is SO much better IMO):

It really should be painted...because otherwise, it'd look pretty shitty.

$100 now for abs and be done
$100 now for urethane, plus another $100 for paint = $200 (give or take a few $10s)

that's probably what i'll end up doing... save myself the hassle of painting.

Mine's an unpainted ek4 sir lip - oe honda. Cant find it anymore, and when you do, its nearly $200
The 99 spec ctr lip is similar and I think stefan has that one in abs

yeah but i meant in reguards to the shape, compared to say, the CTR lip. Is it like a smaller version of it?

Oh, yeah the em1 lip is like the 99-00 ctr style lip. It hangs from the bottom and has a bit of a jutting to the front, instead of just straight down.

Yep, the skirts are abs plastic. My lip is exactly the same material, texture, density, etc
