Which is better?

What do you guys think? The PS2 or Xbox is better? I am looking to buy one and need some input. If you have good deals or know of good deals let me know.....I am looking for one with games and 2 controllers.....Thanks

heh... this is gonna turn into a ps2 has this game and xbox has that game, and a bunch of "screw microsoft". i personally like xbox. the controllers fit better imo. the graphics are alot smoother and less choppy. gameplay is oging to come down to individual games. i think xbox has a better button layout, and the hard drive and network card included is a plus. its got longer cords and they dont pull the xbox when you trip over em (i HATED when my roomies ps2 was out and it kept getting pulled and dropped just cause of the damn cords) xbox dosnt have all the games ps2 does, and visa versa. so if your looking for a specific game, then your gonna be limited to what system its on. all the miltu platform games i think play better on xbox. cant really describe why or how, but the ps2 just dosnt match up as far as performance is concerend.

if your just trying to get a racing game though, you might wana go with a ps2 cause of gt4, i havnt herd much on forenza motorsports so i dont know if its a substitue for it.

I like the PS2 better. I haven't played an Xbox in quite a while, but the last time it did I couldn't use the controller for shit. It was one of those controllers that was half the size of the fucking unit. It just felt so awkward in my hand. I do, however, understand that my hands are different from 99% of the population's so maybe that's not Microsoft's fault. Sony will always have more games, too. Not because they're better or anything...it's because they dominate the Asian market where MS has virtually no foothold as far as games go. A ton of games come out of Japan and China that'll never see Xbox release. The Xbox does have some cool games that are only for that platform like Halo, but not enough to make me want an Xbox. I'd personally like to see all of the platforms share games. It's not like anyone's loosing money. If a ton of people who own PS2s go out and buy Halo 2 that wouldn't have otherwise since they don't have Xboxs, does anyone really lose out? Same goes for PS2 games. As far as graphic and processing quality...I don't see any difference there.

actually this coming up Xbox2 will have equal if not more games than ps3
a lot of companies switched over to Xbox...like Square Enix (or square soft) switched to the xbox platform so I've heard...so xbox will have the majority of producers with them.
i play xbox a lot...only because of halo2..that is the only reason I play xbox...I own the ps2 and therefore own gt4

Square-Enix didnt switch to xbox.
They already have a remake of Final Fantasy VII for ps3 in the works (theres a video available too).
Frankly, Id be VERY surprised if they did. They have a giant sony and nintendo fan-base following. I mean, I think that'd be just dumb for Square to do(next to joining with enix...). They sold millions and millions of Final Fantasies on playstation and several nintendo platforms...but sold very very few on pc platform (which is more similar to xbox). It'd be a bad monetary move, I think.
Lots of Final Fantasy fans are mac-geeks, too.
Pfff...why am I bothered? They havent made a good Final Fantasy since joining with Enix (that means ffix...which wasnt even that great).

I've been a Sony fan since my PS1 so I'm biased but I've always preferred Sony over Microsoft and Nintendo.. The gamecube controllers are gigantic and the button layout is weird.. I've always liked how the PS's is set up, especially over Nintendo's.. And Sony's systems always have backwards compatabilities, and rumor has it the Xbox 360 won't be having this, where as PS3 does. But since it's between PS2 and Xbox that doesn't really matter to you.. Depends on what kind of games you're playing I suppose..

if you can, get both. i've got both and it allows you to choose the best from both consoles. i've noticed that the graphics seem better on the xbox but as noted the selection is slimmer. but you can only get the halo games on xbox. right now i'm playing fps games on xbox and gt4 on ps2.

I'll have to disagree there, Pat. While the Xbox controller is awkward and clumsy, the Gamecube controller for me was nothing short of unusable. The weird button positioning, the nonsensical central joystick placement, the fucked up shape...the thing looks like it was thrown together by a 3rd grader.

my friends have there xbox's modded and with bigger hard drives. they d/led and copyed tons of games that are all on the hard drive. so you just choose from a list of like 80 games and never have to insert a disk.If i had an xbox i would do it.
