I want to be safe, rather than sorry...so Im spending tons of money to acheive my goals without breaking anything (except the bank).

Critique my chosen parts:
ACT Streetlite Flywheel (http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/600110) 12.5lbs sounds smart and good to me.

Eagle Rods (http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/CRS5394A3D) Im not going for 500+hp so I feel confident that Eagles will be fine. If I were, then Manley, I know.

Wiseco pistons (http://www.importperformanceparts.net/imports/wisecopistons_acura.html) # K542M81 - Flat top, Coated, Rings included.

ARP Head Studs (http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/arp-208-4302)

GE block guard (http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=GEM&Product_Code=GBG100) Probably dont need it...but Im not sleeving.

Now I cant decide if I want to go with a GT28RS or a T3/T04e... Sure the cost difference is a lot, but still...

So far so good. Great choices. I have the same weight and designed FW, but made by Competition Clutch.

Check this out tho. There is a compression ratio calculator in C-speed racing web site. Since you are using a B18B crank with a set of JE 9.0:1 compression pistons (for a B18C), this will affect the rod/stroke, thus alters your "actual" compression ratio. Gotta get thel cc dome size also for the calculation.

I see that you will also be setting this up for a future turbo project. I'm sure you've heard of flat dished piston being better for turbos due to its ability to retain more air volume.

AEBS and GE makes better head studs as well, but for your application, ARP is good enough. It's only about $15-25 difference.

GE blockguard or Race Engineering are both great blockguards.

Finally, the turbo selection. I'm not sure what T3T04 you have in mind but a GT28RS is fucking badass! All GT series are. I wouldnt get anything lower than a .60 trim 63 A/R. I wanted to get a GT40RR or at least a GT35RS. I want to be at 75-80% of this SC61 while preventing adiabatic stage.

Anyway, I'll be in and out. I'm really excited for you man. No one here on this board builds a motor for turbo. I cant wait to see your progress....... :yes:

Ah good point on the stroke...I totally forgot about that one.
So if the dish on the c1 is -9.3 with a 89mm stroke.....wow 8.4:1
Crapadoodle. Their next is 9.4:1 which is more than stock compression.
Hmm...SRP has 9.2:1 which is stock... I'll have to keep looking - Id like a flat 9:1 w/o going custom.
Yeah Ive read about the flat pistons somewhere (probably max boost). Endyn makes a set thats 10:1 - a little high for me I think.
While looking at Wiseco they have one thats rated FT-4 for cc...is that flat? Its 9.4:1 btw

I saw the AEBS but never thought about them since all I ever hear is arp this and that.

The gt28 is my balls out money-is-no-object turbo choice and if I go that way it'll mean doing things I probably wont want to do to get it (like tiny loan because I cant wait for it or work until Im dead on my feet).
60/.63 is what I had in mind - Ive seen them for around $550-ish
What I like about them is the external gate....but I could mess with the gt28 to do the same for little cost.

This build will take probably a loooooong time for me to finish. Im only now making final choices on parts and making the cash to buy them ($1500 in 5 days of labor intensive work = real blood, sweat, and tears going into this engine's build) and Im still buying things like asr rear brace, gauges, oil things. Man I wish I was making real money....without the work work

Yeah the -4cc dome I think is dished vice flat. I think CP pistons has a set of flat tops that will yield you between 9.2:1 to 9.8:1. Wiseco website also has this calculator: http://www.wiseco.com/PDFcatalogs/2002_Auto_screen_cal.pdf

60/63 turbos are great man. By all means bro, take your time. That is and what I have been doing since I've started my second turbo set-up for my Teg. As a matter of fact you are being more careful than I am compared to my first turbo B18C set-up. What turbo manifold do you have in mind?

I havent thought much about the manifolds. I know I want an equal length and have looked at Neukin because they look nice for the price and Ive heard a few good things on h-t.
Other than that though Im not sure. Full Race is nice, but the cost is a lot more than neukin and LoveFab doesnt make an equal length, just the sidewinder for A/C (which I NEED!)

The only reason Im being so careful is because I cant afford to do it more than once...at least not soon anyway. I have a lot of time to find this and that because I dont exactly get out much either :D

I found some wiseco flat tops (-4 cc) that, according to c-speed, will yield around 9:1 - which sounds perfect. (Not 9.3, as according to wiseco)

They come with rings and coated(!) for $415...which is more than $100 less than srp's that I found last night.

Yeah, all Wiseco pistons should be coated......

I just find it interesting that they coat them, have tighter tolerances, and come with rings for less. I didnt know they did all that.

Well I should have the pistons and rods by the end of may/start of june and then its off the machine shop for a rough hone/slight bore for piston clearance.
Then it'll be slooow going while I set money aside for the rest of it

But the more I thought about it, its probably better if I build it, drop it in, THEN put turbo parts on it. It would let me break in the engine, work out any bugs, and better appreciate what it finally becomes.

Not a bad idea to drop it in first and ride around with an LS. It'll take you closer to completing the project and as you mentioned, "work the bugs out".

Wiseco pistons are coated only on the sides. You also need to review how to install those piston rings it comes with. The honda procedure will different because of the location of the oil ports on the Wiseco pistons. I'll show you what I did later.....

That should hold up to my target torque levels more than fine. (320ft/lbs)

Im pretty sure you have this one, stefan. When its time for clutch/flywheel I'll buy from you because you have better pricing.
