I'm gunna be getting a clutch and flywheel soon probobly Act Prolite flywheel and HDSS clutch kit...

Although now I might be thinking Fidanza/exedy combo to save some bucks as my car won't be turbo till later this year if not next year... even then the stock would probobly hold up unless I took it to the track or something.

Anyway lemmie know if you guys have any thoughts.

clutches are one of my weakest subjects. So I can only speak from experience. a CM stage-2 for mildly boosted D-series is ample. Just be careful on what pressure plate you pick. I have a super stiff *&^%$ pressure plate on my B20... like a stage-5. It sucks balls......

I have heard nothing but good shit about those Fidanza/exedy combo tho

clutchmasters stage 2
Act
Fidanza
Exedy
those are all good and reputible companies that have alot of R&D in there products as well as racers that use them...Good luck w/ your choice..

i loved my ACT prolite/HDSS combo, slightly stiffer pedal feel but after a day of driving you'll never notice it again, and boy did that engine like to rev.

Thanks for the offer but that's already higher than what I would pay for the ACT HDSS which I'm thinking is too expensive.

AZ...

Do you think you could've gotten away with the OO clutch kit instead of the SS?

I'm going to be going turbo soon and don't want to have to replace the clutch again when I do that.

hmm i'm not sure, looking at the info its saying they're both rated to hold the same amount of torque, i guess the SS would just last longer. Is the possible extra time between clutch jobs worth the 60$or so price difference?? i kinda think so.

well I made my decision... I'm gunna go fidanza FW and exedy clutch... lots of people are satisfied with this combo and I'm trying to save as much money on each part since I'm buying a LOT of parts.

Hopefully this decision will expedite my turbo plans.

Thanks for the info AZ.

Thanks for the opinions and comments All.

I'll do a write up and review once I do the install.

hopefully I won't turn this into a bigger project than it needs to be...

I've been toying with the idea of pulling out the motor/trans and painting the engine bay... but I think I'm gunna skip that for now unless the head needs to be sent out when I do the HG.

Hey how did all that crap with the SRR finally work out?

I just recieved my Fidanza/exedy combo...

I should be installing it this weekend god willing... Just gotta see if I can borrow my buddies repair plate since I let the registration expire...

thing looks great... it's 7lbs... haven't weighed it though... I probobly will prior to install..

The only thing I don't like is that they recomend you balance it... which is BS if you ask me... why the hell wouldn't they do that...

I gotta find out who/where is capable of doing that...cuz I certainly don't want the thing shattering on me.

That's kinda what I was thinking too...

I'm gunna post on H-T and see how many people actually balanced theirs prior to install...

Not sure if I'm gunna do it or not... I gotta call my buddy and see if his shop knows of anyone to do it.

Well I'm both cheap and impatient so I think I'm just going to install it today...

Some people suggested balancing it some said they did and theirs was off... then one guy suggested balancing the pressure plate and that his was 7grams off... but again I'm cheap and it's got 203k on it so just about everything needs a rebuild as it is...

Worst case it blows a bearing faster then it already will.

I'll post up a review when I'm done.
