ive been using trend micro systems online housecall thing. should this cover all the recent viruses or would something like norton or macfee be worth it in comparision

Man...PG2 is blocking that site like there's no tomorrow. I'm not sure why...but my AV stuff seems to work just fine at the moment. Is this one of those things where you have to dl an Active X controller to use it? Otherwise known as bulkware?

its an excellent scanner. But that's all it will do.. It wont scan prgrams on startup, startup memory, and other critical areas.
But if you only want a tool for scanning, then you dont need anything else.

when it scans does it scan everything though? im lost.

no, just recent content and thing on your desktop.
it wont can anything on your C drive.

One of us is really confused.. If its me, forgive me..
I'm pretty sure it scans quiet deep & every drive you select it to scan.
