so i woke up today and had a little pain in my right leg, kind of like a pulled muscle but it felt like it "pulled" different, more left to right, and not up and down like most sprot injurys. then i ran my semi-daily 2 miles on it and when i got back it hurts like fuck now. i cant really bend my foot without too much pain to put any real weight on, but the pain is half way around my leg between my shin and calf half.
so thats my self diognosis... ive had this reoccurring every couple days to a week, but this time its actually painful to the point of barely being able to walk on it.
should i get it checked out or is it just a bad pulled muscle that i need to wrap or stay off of.

Ummm...dude...I'd go get it looked at. I'm pretty sure you don't have any muscles in that area that run horizontally. Check out the neat little interactive diagram at THIS PLACE (http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/class/bio201/muscle/leg1.htm) . You go to school, right? If so, then your school should have a student health center where you can get checked out for free. I know our student health center kicks much ass. I've never spent more than 10 minutes waiting and get diagnosed more thoroughly than my regular doc's office. If it hurts to walk...yeah...go get it looked at.

Definately doesnt sound like a pulled muscle... You should go in for that one.
The fact that you really cant bend your foot or put weight on it makes it sound more serious.

I've had shin splints way too many times to count throughout my middle / high school years. It does sound like it'd be shin splints. When I had mine, it would hurt during warm ups and then while we were warming up..it would go away until about 30 minutes after practice. You should have it checked anyway; we don't want it to get to the point of stress fracture.

im almost sure its not shin splints just cause ive had them so many times i know the pain. its not quite as bad today, i can walk on it semi-normally(of course i have only been up for 15 mins)
