Just wondering if anyone else has this and their thoughts. I just upgraded after my old subscription to Norton 2002. I suppose I like it well enougn so far...doesn't seem to have a whole ton of extra features that SP2 doesn't cover. Anyone have any thoughts about it's effectiveness/ease of use? I gotta say...I was a little pissed that it recognized 5 spyware "threats" and only fixed one. It didn't even try to get the other 4. Then again...such is Symantec's work.

im still running on norton 04 AV. i think 05 is a little better. but you still need a good spyware program period. norton doesnt cover that area that good imo.

It has a better cleaning engine, scan engine, and live update module.

yeah, thats the downfall to nav2005. im running it, and sometimes it wont remove "threats". Bear in mind it not an adware removal program, it just happens to find them. Why they dont integrate a removal tool is beyond me, but whatever.
a lot of spyware and adware is sneaky enough to where you cannot get rid of just by using an antivirus program or spyware removal. You have go into safemode and remove it manually, sometimes.
NAV will tell you where the threat is located, and you can remove it yourself. Suprisingly, they are usually hiding in the windows/system32 folder.
I like NAV2005, but im curious about how the latest version of mcafee is doing these days. They used to suck, but id like to test them out again.

I don't use any AV programs.. they like to take over your computer and not let me do things I want to anymore.. especially Norton
