So I got all my wisdom teeth pulled the other day, and fuck am I ever sore still. My teeth now are moving back into place to where they were supposed to be, because the wisdom teeth were pushing on them and putting pressure on them and shifted a little. Not to mention i can't eat solid foods yet. Oh what I would give for a steak and a beer right now. Fuck this sucks. Drugs are good though.

I had mine out about 5 years ago.
I remember coming home and trying to pull the gauze out...but it was stuck. When I asked my mom for help with it, she said "Honey...thats not guaze. Its your cheek."

Drugs were good...but I still remember the pain and all the blood I spit out for a few days.
I ate a lot of jello and mashed potatoes. My first solid food was a candy bar....sucked - then I had a steak!
Be sure to rinse those holes out for awhile!

Did you get yours out at a surgeon or at the dentist?
Get knocked out or just the gas/novocaine?
(I wouldnt have done it if I couldnt get knocked out for the whole thing - dentophobia and raging antidentite)

Yeah man..I haven't had anything solid to eat since friday night....My first thing i'm eating is a steak. And off the med's is beer. The jello and soup have been good. And being babied is alright. I'm just sick and tired of being sore ya know. I have to miss work cause I can't talk (remember I"m a server)
Yeah man..I got completely put out. I was knocked out at the oral surgeon. No way could I have gone to the dentist...they were like..whoa...no way we can do that. All and all I'm glad I got it done..but I just want the pain to stop, steak to cook, and beer to drink.!

What a coincidence that this thread was made. I was planning on asking everyone if they had their wisdom teeth removed..but I forgot why I didn't. :o

Anyway, I'm glad to know some of you think it hurts. Everyone at my ortho says it doesn't hurt "very much" - go figure, those liars.
What sucks even more is that my ortho never told me I needed them to be removed during my braces process. He told me I have a CHOICE of having them removed before or after my braces. I was a wuss and opted for after. Soo while having my braces, they started coming in. It fxcked the process up by like 8 months but I got over it. Now that i don't have my braces on, he said not to worry...I don't have to have them removed until I come home for the summer. Last week, my upper right tooth started coming in and I think it's fxcking up my alignment. My retainer doesn't fit as well as it used to back there and I think it's shifting my entire set up on top.

I need to get these out but I don't want to do it during spring break nor during school / work time. For those of you that did have them taken out, how long did it take you to unpoofinize your cheeks?

yes, unpoofinize.

I think my cheeks went down fully...er unpoofinized, after about a week...or a few days more than that. Some people's turn solid greenish-yellow, mine just turned slightly off tint. They werent sore, but the back of my mouth really hurt, along the jaw line.

I just advise taking the pain killers whether you think you need them or not, and have a cup for blood the entire first and second day (some need it, some dont...I sure did).

I now remember what it was like to not be able to close my mouth. I was so happy when my molars touched for the first time after the surgery :D

As much as I didnt enjoy it, at the time, Id have to say that it was my best medical-mouth ordeal (yes better than just regular stuff)

I'll have to do it eventually...but I'm putting it off until my wisdom teeth take over my entire mouth. I have a small gap between my two upper front teeth so I'll let my wisdom teeth push those together. But my brother moonlights at an orthodontic surgeon's office as an anethitist's assistant so I feel pretty safe if and when I do have have them pulled. I will, however, still be smoking and drinking while I recover.

Same here Lyna, the dentist suggested me to go take them out when I was 14, when the roots are developing. Been putting it off until I'm now 18, and found out that it's not affecting any of my other teeth, so I get to keep them and skip the pain  .
