whats the compression ratio of the motor? whats the a/r of the turbo? what fuel setup are you using? whats your A/F ratio?

need to know more factors to help ya man.

from a different thread....

my setup:

1 piece darton sleeve
je 9:1 comp psitons
crower rods
crower titanium seats
stock cams
oversize valves intake and exhuast .05mm oversize
port polished head
skunk2 adj cam gears
micropolished crank
pro billit oil pump gears
act xtream with 6 puck
blueprinted block
msd blaster 2, sci, wires

walboro intank fp
aem fuel rail
b&m fpr
450cc injectors
hondata s200 with p28 ecu

my problem is that when vtec comes on my boost stays up but the hp takes a fall

anyone with turbo that have or suspect any thing. let me know all are welcometo give imput. I cant seem to find this. I heard that the vacum lines that run to the runners in the intake if they are not on properly that they can cause the vtec not to work? Any one hear that also?

vtec is dependent on oil pressure and rpm so i doubt vacuum would come into play.

are you running a stock hondata base map? or did you adjust your fuel curve? i can't tell what your A/F ratio's are from that picture, you might be running really rich. did you tune both low and high fuel maps? what about ignition timing?

is the turbo new? possibly your turbo is messed up.

I am running a chip that was tuned to the car to run itsbest with the problems i am having. the a/f was at 12.1 the tuner had to pull the fuel on the top side of vtec to keep it from dumping way more fuel than it was to begin with. I dont know, i am just wondering if the vacum lines are hooked up properly for the intake runners. i have to check today

It appears that you are experiencing a VTEC/Boost overlap. Do you know the specs on that T3T04e?

I know the ar is a .63 trim not sure of the intake. I would think its a t3 on the intake side if im not mistaken. thanks

T3 comes in different trims as well. The common ones are 50, 57, 60 trims. It makes a big difference on boost time on those trim

im sorta clueless, is your VTEC activating?

my guess would still be in the fuel management. its sounds like something is messed up there. you build seems fine as does the turbo. have you checked for any boost leakage?

Hey thermal I am almost 100% sure its the 50. I am gonna do a compression test and also take my bumper off to make sure all the clamps are good to go. I am also gonna go to napa and get those really good clamps. Thanks all for you help again. Keep the comments coming.

Vtec is activating. I even took the valve cover off to make sure the mechanical locks were engaging and they are. I also have 2 vtec solnoids that i used. With that I have a light on my dash that comes on when vtec engages. so i dont know:no:

I think you need a better fuel management and get that thing dyno tuned. a 50 trim is pretty tiny for a 2.2L really.... but 200whp still should be easy with that 50 trim tho....

^ I'm also thinking it's a fuel map problem from the looks of those dyno sheets...the way it just drops off like that. Then again...I know next to nothing about Hondata. Like Arnel said...even a T03 50 trim should be able to push you over 200hp easily, but it's still smaller than I'd like on an H22a.
