Well...that officially makes "chimera" a word suitable for 3 distinctly different things.

As far as whether or not it crosses an ethical line...I suppose that depends how far they take the research. If it helps with genetic research, then I'd give it a hesitant go-ahead. I just don't wanna see a dog with a human head. That's where I draw the line.

still though it becomes a ethical issue. I mean it'd just wrong to grow a human per say just to kill and harvest organs. they are putting human genes in an animal so it may be possible to harvest these chimeras....I'm not by any means a hippie but jesus christ wtf?

i say,

let one of them grow, mature whatever and see what it turns out to be. If indeed it is a creature that is capable of being intelligent (making decisions, speaking, etc.) then they shouldn't make any more

but if it turns out to be retarded or just an animal, or just dies anyway, then i wouldn't see why not.

there ya go, basically what I was trying to say.

like someone also stated on another forum, it's a damn good way to let diseases that may not affect humans jump across that boundary and screw us all up
