Just wondering which one you guys like for prefer? AEM,Hondata,Greddy,haltech,and some others i dont know of.

Im doing a project now on my 4th gen prelude to make 500 horses to the wheel with my h22a jdm high compression 10 to 1 motor. i dont have the engine mangement system, i have the stock ecu which isnt going cutting it.

Here is my preference:
-Motec
-AEM EMS
-Hondata
-Turbo Edit/Uberdata

I cant afford the first 2, so I have Hondata S200b

not that hondata is cheap by any means.

For now i'm going to be using the vafc to do the map hack (i'm not sure how it works on your application, but i've seen many turbo'd cars using the afc, although it isn't that great it gets the job done)

I think come summer time i'll be using turbo edit or similar software since i'll have a laptop and a chip burner by that time.

But from what i've heard, AEM EMS is incredibly powerful, as well as complicated and expensive. And the Greddy emanage is supposed to be decent except for the lack of tuners willing to play with it.

Hondata seems to be supported quite well and you could jump into the s100b system for a little more than 5 bills new, but you can find them used....

you mean s200b (hence making the s100b obselete and cheaper)?

idk they're still a little pricey, but arnel could buy a bentley for $50 since he gets screamin deals on everything. :D

Therm, why dont you hook me up with Hondata. Thats what im planning on running but still need to save some money. I was going to go with E-Manage. But i hear bad things.

e-manage blows man. that thing is just like an AFC. even the wiring is almost similar. i actually paid full for my Hondata S200b. If you want cheap hondatas, just go to Honda-Tech classifieds man. It's all over the place. I found an S100b there for $275.

i vote Uber, its free and does the same thing. especially the new version thats out right now, i've been learning and its actually not that hard, just intimidating at first. you just have to learn how to manipulate A/F ratio's and boost and your set. I vote Uber.

Also, in case you didn't know, Hondata and Uberdata are only OBD1 applicable, don't know if this matters to you.

is there some reason why OBD2 ecu's can't be tuned? (beside of course fuel controllers and the like)

umm i don't know for sure, but my guess would be with the amount of extra sensors on OBD2 vehicles would be difficult to tune with.

ex - 2 O2 sensors instead of just one determining fuel delivery.

I'm sure it can be manipulated. It's just the sofware is not worth the time since OBD1 and OBD2 are almost similar. Since OBD1 has been out longer, more research was put into it. When OBD2 came out, stand alone systems became popular to get rid of OBD2 fiasco. I mean the way I look at it, K-series motors are OBD2, yet Hondata is available for it....
