I didn't until last year when my grandfather died. He was/is the person whom I am most like, he was/is the family member I consider(ed) to be closest to. After he died, I realized just how many great friends he had made and how many amazing accomplishments his life was filled with; at that moment I realized I had to do something significant with mine... and that is how he still lives; as an inspiration through me. :)

I don't think you'll ever know what you've got here or what you've done here until you're gone. When most people think of death they either think of a "heaven" of one kind or another or uncertainty. I think their real fear is being forgotten. I often wonder if I am indeed remembered, will it be for what I did or what I haven't done. So then the trick is living a life that reminds people of the former. But I think it's possible to appreciate moments at a time...you kind of miss the forest from the trees.

... you know what bro, I was taking it for granted until I met my current girlfriend. She showed me some stuff that I never appreciated until she started pointed it out.... the funny thing is, it was mostly small stuff......

It's weird, I told a few people about this last week..that when I go to bed, I always lay there and think of why I'm so grateful to be here today. I guess I feel as if I appreciate things more than others because my parents started off in USA with NOTHING. Couldn't even say HI in English. I know what it's like to be a low class citizen. Sure, we're doing just fine now..but it took a lot of strength and tears to get this far. I don't know how to put it, I'm just so fucking thankful that we're all here and healthy as can be.

I don't appreciate anything and I'm very ungrateful. I take everything for granted. I suck.
